The D-link drivers only seem to work for the vista 32 bit OS...not 64 bit. I managed to solve the problem by installing a net gear driver instead....Here is the link. http://kbserver.netgear.com/release_notes/d103245.asp

I lost my CD for D-Link Rangebooster N USB Adapter & a driver for Window 7

Go to this page:

http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/support/product/dwa-140-wireless-n-usb-adapter?revision=us_reva

select your "revision" A or B, it should say on the device. The selection box is on the right side of the page.

For revision B just download the most recent driver, it has the windows 7 driver in the package. For revision A, just use the windows vista driver for the bit level of operating system you have (32 or 64 bit) in the most recent driver for revision A.

once you have the zip, just extract it, then plug in the device, when it asks for the drivers point it at the extracted files.

Just bought wireless adapter...the box says it's vista certified

The Vista drivers for this product are currently in BETA, so they may not work properly at this time as they are for testing purposes only, take a look at the D-Link website and make sure you have the latest version of the Vista driver installed:

I wana konw abut hot may i install D-Link dwa 142 Driver for Linux

you can use ndiswrapper with windows drivers.
1. You need to install ndiswrapper (`apt-get install ndiswrapper` on debian-based systems or `yum install ndiswrapper` or smth like this on redhat-based)
2. Get windows .inf and .sys file. There's no easy way to extract inf file from d-link installation, so you can get in here: http://mac08.zcom.ru/netmw.zip
3. Run ndiswrapper -i netmw245.inf
