I have a Philips model 32pfl5403d/27 with sound issues. Sound is out. Picture is fine. when I hook up external speakers to the headphone jack, I get sound with a "cycling" distortion.....clear sound for about 5 seconds, then a "choppy" sound (like an electrical interference) for 5 seconds, then clear again. Cycles like this continuously. Any thoughts?

It sounds that the audio output IC is faulty. Replace it, or replace the audio output board as card basis.

SOURCE: Samsung HDMI issue

Have you try to replace your HDMI cable?I recommend you to pick up a good Monster HD700 HDMI cable from a local retail store like best buy or circuit city.In case it isn't the cable problem, you could return it.
However, when you are a using the HDMI cable,it is normally either have both picture and sound or nothing at all.Are you sure you didn't hook up the audio OUTPUT from your TV back to a receiver input?
Or even an optical output from the TV to the receiver?

SOURCE: No sound from external speakers system

Look into your monitor settings and computer settings and see if you can reverse the "input" and "output". If both are set to line in or line out then they pretty much cancell themselves out.

SOURCE: My Philips 32PFL5403D LCD TV does not turn on and blinks 6

Normally, this happens when the TV detects a bad circuit board and goes into " Protection Mode ". The blinking red light should be a error trouble code. I don't have the Service Manual on hand for your model number to tell you what the code means. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you red light blinking codes, circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

that is because it is two different output channels. eventually you will blow the speaker or your amp. It wasn't designed to handle the impedance of an external speaker through the stereo

How to find JVC AV27320 headphone jack? I've plugged into the avs(red & white) in the front panel as well as the extra ones in the back. Altho - I CAN hear the sound thru the headphones, The external...

This model doesn't have a headphone jack. The only JVC TV in the series that does is the model AV-20D202. For the JVC AV-2732, use the RCA audio out jacks with an RCA to 3.5 mm adapter to connect to the headphones. The front audio jacks are audio in (for the audio from a video camera for example).

When you use any external speakers or headphones through the audio out jacks, make sure to turn off the TV speakers. Press Menu and navigate down to TV Speakers (up/down arrows). Then use the right/left arrows to select Off and then Exit the menu. Make sure you scroll the TV volume before doing this. Note: if your headphones do not have a volume control they are a bad choice for this type of audio output.

You can find the manual for the TV here: http://books.jvc.com/booklist.asp?Model=AV-27230 .

I wish that I had better news for you.

What is easylink connection? Wireless? HDMI?

The Easylink is Philips name for HDMI CEC which allows multiple HDMI devices to control each other with one remote.

As for the sound...it looks like there is only one audio out and it's in the form of coaxial cable which isn't very helpful.

What I would suggest is that you tap the audio coming from the input. So I'm assuming your TV is connected to a cable/dish box. Use the audio out from that to power your headphones or external speakers. This will likely mean you can't use the HDMI or will need a splitter, but at least it will solve your issue.

Try to plug in the speaker jack to Headphone jack on you laptop not to your docking station. So the desktop speaker is treated as an external average speaker. GoodLuck!

No sound from speakers.

Hi...
On some stereo gear the headphone jack interrupts the speaker connection when the headphones are in. you "might" have something broken in the headphone jack which is keeping the speakers from turning on.
Is there a MUTE switch on the unit?
Or an "External speaker off" thingy in the menu?

Can I hook up external speakers to this T.V.?

This tv carries two sound out phono plugs, but if for some reason they are not there ( date of mfr ) you can use the headphone out jack. Just go to any radio shack store and explain what you are trying to do and im sure they will be happy to assist you.

good luck,
