Question about Toshiba Satellite A55-S326 Notebook

Replace laptop headphone jack (Toshiba Satellite A55-S326)

Because of a previous incident, i only had one working speaker on my computer until a few days ago. a few days ago i ripped the "headphone out" cable out of my laptop on a really bad angle and broke the jack. when that happened, my other speaker doesn't work either. any information on how to fix it? will replacing the jack fix this?

what type of sound card does it have?
the cnet site says:
"Audio output type Sound card"
now, does this mean that it is definitely not onboard?

anyway, my main questions:
can it be done?
how? anyone with specific links to purchase the replacement and how to install it?
will this also fix the problem with my speakers?

i was very specific with my question, so please don't respond with vague answers that we all know aren't going to help me.

It on board so its going to take some really good solder work and a new jack from Radioshack. or the other solution is you can buy a sound card from any best buy, computer store or even online for cheaper then you can to fix that professionally.

Your install discs are bad. Please don't shoot the messenger. Call Toshiba for new discs. Here is the number (it took me 30 minutes to find this. Please give me a 4-thumbs-up rating. If you don't, I spent time away from family for free).

My toshiba sattellite a55-s326 has a flashing yellow light but won't power up.

Hello,

You may try this; Turn OFF the laptop, remove the power sources (ac adapter and battery). Without power sources, hold power button 10 secs. Put back the power sources, and power ON the NB. If the laptop will not boot by doing this, take it to the nearest repair center to have it check for possible motherboard issue.

Hope this works

Toshiba A10 headphone jack problem

I think you are on the right track, if the headphone jack is worn and shorting out itll kill the speakers because it thinks headphones are plgged in, ebay would be a good start for parts, maybe even call toshiba and speak to their tech support.

Sounds like you have snapped the centre connector in the laptop. If you look at the AC connector on the laptop there should b a "pin" in the centre. These frequently snap off, symtoms are :
Battery will not charge
Will not turn on from AC supply.

There are some firm which will replace the ac jack for you but it will cost.
Interent search .. replace DC jack on toshiba
