After installing a new hard drive in my desktop computer, it still does not work. It says no boot device available. Sata's 0 & 1 installed but 2 & 3 uninstalled

No boot device available means the boot device hard drive on your system has no bootable operating system installed on it, or it is faulty. In the BIOS setup program, does the computer recognize the hard drive you installed, and is it included in the boot device list? If you installed a new hard drive because of a failure of the C: drive, the new hard disk does not come with an operating system. You have to install that on the new hard drive from the manufacturer's system restore disks. SATA channels 1 and 2 are just the connections on the motherboard for devices, and usually have a hard drive on one connection and a cd rom drive on the other. Giving the model and manufacturer of your computer might provide more clues.

However, most of the Operating Systems come with native driver support for many known printers. This is the fact we have to take care while purchasing a printer. Even though we misplaced the driver disc, if we purchase a good manufacturer printer, there is a chance to get the native support from Operating System itself.

There are some scenarios where printer may not be recognized by the Operating System due to some conflict with other devices.

Please follow the troubleshooting steps and check the operation:

My computer does not accept sound software

Hi,

For Windows to recognize your sound card, you must find and install a compatible driver for your sound card. Most sound cards require driver software to work properly. Be sure that you have installed any software discs that came with the device. If you don't have a disc or the software on the disc does not solve the problem, follow these steps:

  1. Check if a driver for your sound card is available through Windows Update. For more information, see Install Windows updates.

  2. If Windows Update does not find a driver for your sound card, visit the website of the sound card manufacturer to check if a driver is available. If one is available, download it. If not, contact the manufacturer.

  3. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.? 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b.png If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  4. In Device Manager, look for a sound card under Sound, video and game controllers and confirm that Windows does not recognize your card.

  5. Close Device Manager.

  6. Open Control Panel by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, and then clicking Control Panel.

  7. In the Search box in Control Panel, type add hardware.

  8. Click Install drivers for older devices with Add Hardware wizard. 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b.png If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation

My computer wont let me install OS

You have to reboot and tap F2 to go to BIOS select option to enable the Secondary controller and to detect the proper IDE Devices?

Also make sure the IDE cable is firmly attached and the you have pin 1 alligned properly at all 2 (or3) connectors. And if you have 2 IDE devices attached make sure one jumper ( in HD or CD ) is set to master and the other to slave.

If none of this works, try a known good CD rom drive that you can try and try switching with a known good cable.

Once the system recognize the CD ROM youre set to go !

Machine freeze up randomly. Must do a hard shutdown. Seems like a motherboard failure

Freezes and crashes are generally caused by some sort of instability in the computer system.

The following is a list of specific problems that can cause instability along with what to check when troubleshooting each.
Viruses can cause instability.
Run a virus check on the computer to look for a possible virus.

Conflicts can cause instability.
Check the Windows Device Manager to see if there are any yellow exclamation marks or red Xs beside the listings for device classifications. If there are, contact Tech Support.

Buggy or damaged software applications can cause instability.
If the system is less stable when certain software programs are running, shut down those programs and see if the problem continues to occur. If the problems stop, chances are that those software programs are causing the problems.

Buggy, outdated, or conflicting drivers can cause instability.
Check manufacturer web sites for updated device drivers for the various devices installed on the computer system, such as: printer drivers, modem drivers, video drivers, sound drivers, USB device drivers, etc.
Update one driver at a time and see if the system stabilizes. If this doesn't work, it may be a hardware problem, so contact Tech Support.

AC problems can cause instability.
Check to see if the computer system is plugged into an overloaded outlet.
Make sure the computer system is plugged into a surge suppressor.

The installation of new devices can cause instability.
There are three typical symptoms that point to this problem:
The computer system fails to boot, freezes during a boot, or freezes during an operation for no apparent reason.
The system fails to recognize the newly installed device.
One or more software applications fail to function as expected after an upgrade.

Hardware failure can cause freezes

Fan failure, cpu failure, memory failure, could be also a cause of freezing.

Keep track of the hardware and software that is added to a computer.
The addition of new hardware and software can often cause problems to occur.

USB drvices not recognized

The first thing to check is Hardware Device Manager, see if the USB port itself is functioning. If it has a yellow exclamation pointed symbol, that means something is afoul there. Also, check that the USB port(s) are enabled in BIOS.

Do your USB devices function on other known good machines?

Perhaps a fresh install of Windows would fix the issues.

A physical hardware failure (motherboard) could happen.
