What number on each channel on behringer ep2500 to set for behringer vp1220 speakers

It is best to start with the mark on the ep2500 directly up (12 o'clock position). Gradually increase the output on your mixing board (MAIN MIX) to get desired volume. I you find that you're getting close to -10 to 0 dB, then start increasing the volume knobs on the ep2500. Watch for clipping on the amp.

I have EP2500 amp i want to use it to push 6 tops, what should i switch it to? one channel must push 3 tops and the other as well pushing 3 tops.

OK, you can use ep2500 amp to power 3 tops each,But the only challenge is that you are about to over load your amplifier. might get hot too fast .

You can use a cooling system to make it not too hot..It also depends on how the event your using it for...Using 3 EP2500 amplifier to drive three 6 top, using two top for each amplifier. Just a suggestion.

Using 2 amplifier, you will need to drive on one channel to drive 2 tops, and 1 top for the other channel.

That will do. But make sure you turn on the volume of the amplifier to the max volume ,so that it will be able to work properly for your tops...

Clipping the channels

The manual discusses the Clip Inidicator and how to deal with clipping.

Clipping in this amp isprimarily a function of the input signal being distorted so the input level is recommended to be lowered. Beyond that the cause of input distortion would have to be addressed in the device producing it.

Being an older amp , I would first dust out the innerds and call the music store you bought it from for a tech that they use.
Sounds like some solder connections have given up

Rear speakers do not work

Make sure of what audio mode you've set your receiver to, as well as what the source audio signal contains.

Some modes, such as Dolby Digital/Pro Logic will adopt the input format, and subsequently use only the front left and right speakers if there are no LFE/Center/Surround channels present. Setting the mode to Pro Logic II or IIx, on the other hand, will force a signal to be spread out to the various extra channels.

Using the Automatic Field Detect mode will usually provide the most appropriate solution for the input signal, otherwise.

Also note that if your audio source is from a PC and you are playing games, some games will, when you are using the digital output of many sound cards (most notably the Sound Blaster Live! and Audigy 1-2 and Audigy SE model cards) output only stereo as their signal, but still in a digital format. Your receiver will pick this up as a stereo specific signal and avoid using the subwoofer, center and surround channels.

Unfortunately, for those cards, there is no work-around beyond using analogue output or getting a more recent, better compatability sound card, as it is a limitation between the drivers, the card and the game in question, rather than your receiver that has the issue.

If the above doesn't help alleviate your issue and/or you could clarify on what your source audio is and whether you encounter this issue with all source-types or not, please post a follow up response.

Does anyone has overheat problem with Behrigher EP2500 power amplifier? We had the amp for abut a year. The amp. has recently become overheat (hand burning) after 30 minutes operation. We set the gain to...

The last time I had a problem like this there was a defective transistor in the from end that was generating noise in the 30K range. Too high to hear and too high for the speakers to reproduce, but enough to put quite a load on the amp. Does this occur even with no speakers attached? If so, then put an osciloscope on the outputs and look for signals. WIth no input, there should be no output at all except for a little noise. You can also see if there is any DC on the outputs as well.

Please update this with what you find.

Thanks,
Dan

Channel 2 Distorted/Clip light comes on

It sounds like the final amplification section is OK now. I'd be looking for a noisy transistor or transistor pair at the "front end" of the unit. There may also be a shorted coupling cap between the stages. If you can Email me the schematics, I can provide more details.
