Win7 is a recently dev version of windows. i don't think that the manufactures has begin writing the drivers for their products. see in the manufactures website if they have provided the drivers or else you cannot install the drivers. even if you some how install the drivers, the product cannot offer full efficiency.

Hello download the right drivers here:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+4+Series+Chipset+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+DG41RQ

Or install a better graphic card, in the pci-e slot on the mainboard for better performance.

The onboard graphic, is useing the physical ram on the mainboard to operate.

MSI K9AGM display

This is a common problem for this board. Don't use the upgraded driver from the ATI site for the onboard video. It will not work. Change to the video driver on the CD that came with the motherboard, that should fix it for you... Just make sure you completely uninstall the current video driver before you install the one from the CD.

Is my linux computer compatible with windows xp software? are the parts interchangeable? example= installing a linux video card in a windows 7 tower?

Most devices that have Unix drivers will also have drivers available for some versions of Windows. Asus lists XP drivers for this board: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Socket_754/K8V_SE_Deluxe/#download . The K8V-SE Deluxe motherboard is not listed as Win7 compatible (but it's not listed as known incompatible either). To test if this board is Win7 compatible, update to the most recent BIOS, then use a Win7 install DVD to search for drivers and other support. (I know the Windows Update disc confirmed that my WinXP box would support Win7.)

For moving components into another computer, you will need to identify the exact device that you want to move and the slot/interface for that device. For example, since ASUS K8V-SE Deluxe motherboard has an AGP video card slot, it will not fit in a newer tower with only PCIe or PCI slots. If your Win7 tower does have an AGP slot, you may need to look in will amongst the drivers for "legacy cards". Finding an XP driver will be fairly easy. The Windows 7 driver may not exist and Win7 may not run without an external video card (if it can load at all).

I hope this helps. If you are looking at a different motherboard or wish to check specific components, please add a comment with the make and model of those parts. I'll be glad to try to find additional information. Include in your comment whether the Win7 tower is/will be running Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit. Drivers for the 32-bit Windows are more common since they don't need the signature. (To check if a Windows machine is currently running Win7 64-bit, click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If the title ends with x64, it's the 64-bit OS. Otherwise it's the 32-bit version.)

My mother board is Intel D945 GCL. after installing windows 7 there are some problems with my sound..

Hello
Windows 7 does not support open al audio. If you have onboard sound download and install the drivers from intel.

If you have a sound card like a soundblaster or saphfirre go to the munufacture website and download and install lateest drivers for win7.

Verify your win7 is 32 or 64 bit in system settings in control panel.

I got win7 installed on my desktop computer ( mother board msi k8mm-v V1.3) when i want to play games it gives me error message "windows media accelerator"

You need to install all the mainboard/chipset/graphic card drivers.
For the mainboard/chipset drivers, please check
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K8MM-V.html#/?div=Driver

MSI is not prividing the Win7 drivers yet, but you can use the Vista drivers. Select the Vista version (32 bit or 64 bit) to be the same as yout Win7 type (32 or 64 bit)

Asus k8s-MX >SoundMax is not working on WIN7

That is very strange. In Windows 7 you can configure the speaker configuration, but by default I think it is set to Stereo and I am not even sure mono is available.
Are you certain you plugged the speakers fully? If the plug is half inserted you will get this effect.

First question, are you using the correct driver for your printer on the Win7 platform.

I can't find a soundmax Integrated Audio driver for Win7 Ultimate OS. I would like to have one before I upgrade my Win XP to Win7 since it was the recommendation of Win7 compatibility Advisor. Thanks...

First, shame on Microsoft! Second, many are having the same issue you are now experiencing. What has worked is installing the Vista driver package.

Click on the link below and download the file.
Go to device manager and uninstall the current driver for Soundmax Intergrated Audio soundcard.
Double click on the downloaded program to install your soundcard driver.
If the program has issues installing the driver (due to incompatibility with Windows 7) go back to the device manager and right-click on the Soundmax Integrated Audio soudcard
Select Update driver
When searching for the updated driver, direct the search (or select manual search) to the folder the file created when you double clicked on it (swsetup>Sp36530>i386>Vista)
This should enable your soundcard.

Best of luck!
