ducting & fan are ok, runs ok when all control is set to auto. but trips when set to heat and fan on auto when trying to cut in from auto defrost.

why would moving the outter unit 2ft off a roof onto a backet change the running of the AC.

  • joyalan3 May 04, 2009

well well there are sparkies and there sparkies. the sparky who upgraded my power box was a dud. putting my air con and spa on a 16 amp fuse instead of 20amp the a/c pulls 15....+ when runnig on heat and with a regas the load makes it trip.......problem solved.

Kindly check the power socket and power plug both take out the plug and see if it is melted sometimes this happens when there is a problem in contacts of electric socket and ac plug , kindly inspect both and let me know , where is this Circuit breaker installed that trips is it in the main House Panel where all are installed or it is on the Plug of AC kindly tell me then we can go forward

it is always better to take straight wires from AC direct to wall outlet bring two wires from supply and put a circuit breaker put 2 wires from wall and two wires from unit directly in the connection area of breaker and use it , i think this will not happen

do u have a Power Meter Clamp type to check Amperes ?

pls let me know

Check ductwork, indoor fan and filter for damage, I think that might be the problem.

Hope I helped with the repair of your problem.
An Accept from you is how I get paid.
And a positive feed back tells me how I did with the repair.

Arjun.

What is the difference between a ducted and non ducted Domestic Air Conditioner?

Ducted A/C has an internal fancoil unit installed in the roof space of the home. From this central location, a series of ducts run from it and into as many rooms in the house as the owner desires. From these ducts, this allows you to cool or heat each room individually – called zoning
Split systems stand out for their relatively low initial purchase price. Another perk is that the installation is not so invasive – it can often be done in a day or less from a licensed technician. Though, being that the unit is fairly small, it is best suited to cooling or heating one room – this is either a positive or negative depending on how you look at it. On one hand, it’s an efficient option if you only need to cool or heat one room, but on the other hand they are less effective in larger spaces. Rarely could a split system air conditioner cool or heat an entire home. Split system air cons are great options for small areas, but lack the power to affect larger spaces – this is reflected in their relatively cheap purchase price, from around $1,000-$2,000.

Wat is H3 error in bluestar split Ac?

Hello Yogesh...

Unless you are familiar with the BASICS of REFRIGERATION...
"H3" ERROR CODE means it is "Out of ORDER"...

Broken: Needs repair.

By searching the internet "split A/C " It defines a
COMPRESSOR overload protection is trying to
SAVE your equipment FROM SELF DESTRUCTION.

See second detail sheet (below)

"COMPRESSER"
Is the heart of MOST modern refrigeration systems.
In a SPLIT system it is the outside unit with the FAN
that should be running when the COMPRESSER is
in action. Typically then compressed & COOLED
REFRIGERANT is then piped into a cooling element
EXACTLY LIKE MOST REFRIGERATORS where the
cooling takes place (expansion valve and evaporator).

Treated AIR (indoor) is then blown through the
evaporator... cooling the room and warming the
refrigerant (which continues to cycle back to the
outside unit where the compressing cycle
continues until the INSIDE temperature is
achieved... (thermostat on the wall)

"COMBINED"
pretty much means EVERYTHING but those combined refrigeration units seen WORLD-WIDE HANGING OUT OF WINDOWS... or on roof-tops with DUCTING for
"treated AIR" to be pumped where needed.

Similarly heat pumps simply have reversible valves...
which turn the coils around (functionally).

There too are split-system (inside/outside) & combined units.

My outside toshiba split system is leaking a lot of water

If the unit is on heat mode, the outside unit is the "cold" end... Sometimes if the ambient air temperature is very cold ( Under 5 degrees C), the outdoor unit can start to ice up. If it ices up too much, the air con will automatically go on to a defrost cycle where the outdoor unit will heat up and melt the ice. Water is then drained out the bottom.. its the opposite of what happens in the summer when the indoor unit has water running out of the drain hose. Especially on humid days..

My LS-H186 VML 1Metal Art Cool 12000 BTU Air Con does not heat up

You should also check the outside unit to make sure the coil is not clogged with dirt or grass clippings and the fan is working. The reversing valve that switches it from cool to heat could also be a problem. If it isn't shifting it will not switch between heat and cool.

Heating part of split system not working but fan outside is

if the cooling is ok then the reversing valve outside may be faulty

Will Not Heat

On the outdoor unit the fan should not be running, on the indoor unit the fan should be running. If you then check the outdoor unit with fan not running, you should be able to hear clearly that the compressor is actually working. If this is all correct, it is possible that your fourway reverse valve is seeping and needs to be replaced.

We have a fujitsu air con model ast9lsbcw which blows cold air from the outside unit and the inside unit is not cooling the room.

Sounds like you have it in heating mode or it is low on charge. In cooling mode, the outside fan should blow hot air not cold.
