Go to BIOS & turn on the audio device from BIOS

My dell volume icon is deleted


Hi,
By default, the Volume icon is not displayed when you initially install Windows XP on your system.

To enable the display of the Volume icon, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Sounds and Audio Devices.
  3. Click Show volume control on the taskbar.
  4. Click OK.
When you have the new desktop features of Windows XP enabled, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Sounds, click Speech, and then click Audio Devices.
  3. Click Sounds, and then click Audio Devices.
  4. Click Show volume control on the taskbar.
  5. Click OK.

Doesn't show on the bottom like use to show and is no noise on the speakers


Presuming you are on XP, go to "Control Panel" and select "Sound and Audio Devices" and check there is a tick in the box "Show Volume Control in Taskbar", and that an audio output device is ahowing in the drop down list.

Can not show volume icon on my pc


XP view
Control Panel
->sound,speech, and Audio Devices
->Sound and Audio Devices
->sound And Audio Properties
->check "Place volume icon in the taskbar" box

Classic View
Control Panel -> Sound and Audio Devices->sound And Audio Properties->check "Place volume icon in the taskbar" box

Microphone


  • START
  • Control panel
  • Sounds and audio devices
  • Advanced (Under "Device Volume")
  • Options
  • Check Advanced controls
  • On same drop down menu click Properties
  • Under "Show following volume controls" check Microphone
  • Microphone volume control should appear
  • Uncheck "Mute" below mic volume control
  • Move slider up

Now also do this:
  • START
  • Control Panel
  • Sounds and audio devices
  • Audio
  • Under "Sound recording" select device in which you've plugged in your microphone
  • Voice
  • Under "Voice recording" select device in which you've plugged in your microphone
  • *If you're not sure in what you've plugged in your mic than select "Test Hardware" under "Voice recording".*
  • Click Apply, click OK
