50v 100uf capacitor

I just took my y sus board off, because i just got a black screen at start up with the dell logo fading out. to my surprise i found a capcitor (50v 100uf) on the board with no salder on it. its right before what i think is a transformer. so i messed with it and now all black with no dell logo. could this be my problem? it is loose, and from what i have read this ysus board has its problems so any help would be grateful

The problem is a $1.09 part. You will need a soldering gun, multimeter, etc.. Or someone else who is electronically inclined.

The fix for it is here:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Dell-W5001C-50quot-plasma-fix/

Ofcourse test the Va voltage before attempting the fix. My Va had around 10V and should have been around 70V.

I have the 46" Dell model with the same problem, Dell Logo all pixilated and fading out to black screen, and this fixed it. Part cost $1.09 plus shipping.

I can't take credit for this persons post so post thanks on the fix.

Just note, TV's can hold electricity even after being unplugged. So if you try this keep that in mind. You shouldn't mess with it until an hour or so after you unplug it and even then there could be electricity in the large capacitors that can harm or kill you. Google "discharging capacitors" to discharge the electricity from the power board. Attempt at your own risk.

If your good a soldering and it is no risk to you try applying solder to it but be careful not to oversolder it to the mainboard.

Won't print dark enough

Forget buying a new toner cartridge and don't bother re-installing anything - This is a power supply problem - The electrolytic capacitors fade away after a few years of power on and the high voltage to the printing engine drops too low.I tried a new toner cartridge - no help - re-installed drivers - no help.If you can handle a soldering iron or know a friend who can, replace the following capacitors on the power supply board on the LHS (power cord side). Make sure you use low impedance 105 degree power supply types. Warning - high voltage !!! power cord out and wait 30 minutes before touching anything.
C374 341 503 529 (47uF/35V), C526 (1uf/50V), C506 (0.47uF/35V), C515 (100uf/50V). All the others tested fine in mine. Also make sure you install them the correct way around!
Now I have "black as black can be" prints just like new and I can set print density back to 2 not 5.
enjoy ;-)

My 8 yr old hp LaserJet 3030 printer cartridge is printing extremely light. Just got a new cartridge and it is not much better! I can barely see the ink on the paper. Any ideas how to fix?

New cartridge means that the transfer corona is probably going out (or the controller board is sending wrong voltage) because it charges the paper to pull the toner off of the EP drum. This might be replaceable but you have to check with HP about buying one. I did not find them for sale on line but some models have them for about $25.

Black screen

If it fades linearly, it is probably the high voltage inverter for the backlight fluorescent lamp. Generally, the lamp dies over time with some flickering of it first.
That inverter is normally on a small, separate board and once the unit is open, it is easy to locate and replace.

Dell w4201c hdtv plasma tv BLACK SCREEN, LOGO FADES OUT, SOUND REMIANS, HELPPPPPPP

the problem was the y-sus board, i had a local tv repair shop diagnos that much for me. although, he couldn't fix it i did some research and found a company in california, itritek.com, who could. you send him the y-sus board and the two buffer boards and he not only repairs them but he upgrades them. apparently the y-sus board gets too much heat and eventually goes out, sometimes the buffer boards are affected too. itritek.com replaces the components on the y-sus board with better parts which are more heat resistent. i believe this will help you with your problem. let me know...good luck.

Plasma no picture, fades to black from startup logo

UPDATE:
I finally isolated the problem, the problem has to do with the Y SUSTAINER BOARD not receiving enough/necessary voltage when turned on, while initially thinking it was just the yboard was the problem, i replaced the Y sus board with no success, with only further diagnosis, i discovered the board voltages coming from the powersupply, there are 5 voltages that relate to the Y sustainer board, VA, VSC, VS, VE, VSET. they all supply a certain voltages that all have to be supply the correct voltage in order for the y sustainer board to be working, well guess what, the VA line, which for my set needs 70volts, which upon startup quickly drops from 75volts to a jumpy 8.5-9.5 volts, which of course is nowhere near the 70 volts needed, so this quick drop in voltage is directly related to the screen fade upon startup, i found the problem now the real problem is finding a replacement power supply. hope this helsp anyone with similar issues.
