Question about Maytag Washing Machines
The door switch keeps giving out. Is there a improved defective part. The sensor gets moisture and says the door was not opened since the last cycle to open and shut the door to start. I do that and the same messages appears. My husband noticed that the old switch that had been replaced looked like it was good, he discovered the problem is the moisture that keeps it from working. He's been changing the two switches, when one stops working the other is dried out and he puts it back in. So he said the next time it goes out he said he's going to bypass it with a togle switch. Have you or anyone done that. OR does Maytag know about this?
A couple things may be going on here... you may not want to hear, but the Neptune has a had many "consumer related problems".
If your complaint is "will not stop filling with water" I would access your inlet water-valve (typically blue with 2 black battery looking solenoids; where your water-lines connect directly), test for continuity and replace as necessary. Sometimes inlet-water valves also go bad where the complaint is: "no water comes in at all".

Hi, You can get to the lid switch by removing the screws that hold the control panel to the cabinet. This model has a fuse included with the lid switch.
I hope this helps you.
Please let me knwo if I can assist you further.

Try these steps:
1.) Take the washer outside. 2.) Loosen the two screws on the back panel and remove the back panel. The pump sits on the left-side of the opening. There's a black water hose with a metal clamp; 3.) squeeze the metal clamp with your fingers until it's loose enough to slide away from the pump. 4.) Separate the hose from pump and the trapped water will pour out and the door will then open; and 5.) clear any blockage from the drain hose and the pump.

two problems here,
your shaft seal is running on its last leg
the sound is unmistakeable and always described the same...
the water issue, you probably have a trickle leak through the cold water valve
the mixing valve is quite an easy repair, but I would have to say with all honesty, it probably time for a new machine
the hub seal is a tub replacment call
2 hrs of labor if hes good
and the tub runs around 500.00 dollars
sory for the bad news

do you have the machine set for cold water rinse? if so, the solenoid that allows the cold water to come into the machine may be malfunctioning. try to see if it will fill in the rinse cycle with hot water? if so, you need to change the water inlet valve.
