Question about Samsung Q1 Tablet PC
The mouse pointer on the screen does not match up with the stylus. Particularly once closer to the edge of the screen, the mouse doesn't go ar far as the pointer do you can't select items in the task tray of use the close "X" in the far upper right corner. Anything on the edge of the screen is unselectable because the mouse pointer just won't go there? Can anyone determine if this is an error/bug, or if I just need to adjust this somehow?

Is it running Windows TabletPC operating system? This version of the OS includes support for the touch screen.
There is also a known Microsoft problem that this might be related to. You can check out this link for more information: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914444/en-us
BTW, Microsoft does not charge for calling to get a hotfix like the one listed in this article.

That would be normal, as the variable speed fan comes on only when the computer is under load.
What is not normal is that the fan is not coming on when the computer overheats.Or that the fan is not cooling enough when computer is overheating.
Monitor computer temperature using a software, check if Fan is coming up when temperature gets critical.
If fan comes up but does not cool enough, then replace the fan, it is not efficient anymore because of a bad bearing or dust. ~Also ensure that fan is well mounted, if fan has poor contact with CPU surface , cooling will be poor.
If fan does not come up, and critical temp is not detected, then the sensor on motherboard is bad, this is very uncommon. When this happens the problem is usually related to system or power settiings , rather than overheating.
If fan does not come up and temp is critical, then fan is faulty, replace it.
There are also more than one fan on many laptops, check that one of the fans (CPU fan, video fan) is not completely ded, and therefore cause for the problem.
By using the software below you can also find out if the problem is really overheating. If temperature results within normal range, then usually it is not overheating. In that case test systtem and check power saving settings.
Here is the software to control your fan and temp. sensor state:
Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer
Download SpeedFan 4.38

SOURCE: Samsung Ulta Q1
There are two Youngshin-t AWM ribbon cables that wrap around at that point of the unit. Have you or someone taken the unit apart to upgrade the RAM or anything like that? I bought a used Q1 Ultra and previous owner was an idiot and had litterally broken several leads in the 10cm ribbon cable and also pits in the longer ribbon cable. There is a video online with a gentleman who does a ram upgrade, you can watch this to learn how to safely open the Q1 Ultra and check the stylus housing area for a short.
I'm not sure what Chipworm is talking about because the housing for the stylus does not contain any type of sensors that I am aware of. I've taken the Q1 Ultra apart down to individual components.
