Question about HP Pavilion tx1000z Notebook

1 Answer

I dropped my hp tx1000. Now there is no video on the screen or any indication that it is working. I have tried plugging in an external monitor but no video signal. I have reseated memory. Can't find the Processor. HP site so slow and no tech manuals available. All of thelights around the bezel are on, power light is on, doesn't start and then shut down, just stays on until I perform a hard power down or pull battery and unplug it. Can someone help me with this? Have a lot of pictures of the kids and vacation and would like to at least recover them if not the laptop. Thanks in advance

Your laptops connecting cable from the motherboard to the screen may be damaged either replace that cable or use external monitor. In other case if the cable is not damaged then the screen needs to be replaced

Compaq Presario CQ50-110US 15-inch Laptop dropped will boot but no video

Your laptop may have a combination of problems. Since the laptop was dropped, it is possible that your may a motherboard that no longer outputs video through the video controller, or the screen may have been damaged internally. Try hooking up an external monitor through the vga output of your laptop, usually located on the side or back of the laptop. If the external monitor works, then most likely it is your screen that's bad, if the external monitor doesn't works, then most likely it is your motherboard that's bad.

Let me know if this helps.

My HP 6735b laptop is not showing anything on the screen. could it be a graphics card problem?

Doubtful try plugging a monitor into the external VGA port located on the left side or backside of that laptop. If u get video boot there ur looking at an LCD screen issue, backlight tube bad, or a bad connection from board to screen. If you get no video boot to the external monitor it may be just a bad stick of RAM.

My screen is not working! the notebook is working ,but no video. hp notebook dv9700 series

I would unplug it and take the battery out. Then plug only the ac adapter in and turn on. If still no video. Try external monitor. If still no video check HP recall list. I think these laptops have known chip problems. Maybe you can get warranty repair. search for hp recall laptops dv. then you'll see if yours is on the list. and contact them to see if included in extended warranty. Basically I suspect a chip problem here if no video on external monitor or internal

Hi everyone, I have an hp Tx1000 laptop. The pc fails to boot up and there's just a black screen. It's not responding at all. It powers up but nothing shows on the screen. I tried recovering it several...

When you stated that you tried to recover it several times, how were you able to attempt that if you have no video. You cannot see what you are doing.

Nonetheless, you GRAPHICS CHIP is shot. Your laptop is essentially dead. The system will power on but the graphic chip will not produce a video. Often people reflow these chips, however, they seldom last long and the video quality is compromised.

If you can see the video on an external monitor then your screen, LCD Inverter, or Video cable is bad. If you cannot see the video on an external monitor. Your graphic chip is dead. End of the road for your system. Don't waste your time and money on the reflow.

Good luck

My hp 500 screen blank

The first thing to do is connect an external monitor to the external video connector since you can't troubleshoot what you can't see. If you aren't sure of whether your computer has started you can press the CAPS Lock key off and on to see if the indicator lights up. If the external monitor displays for you then use your Fn keys to switch between external and internal monitor. Control Panel's Device Manager will tell you if there is a monitor or video card fault. If the external monitor doesn't work then internal video adaptor is disconnected or dead. Another option is to connect your S3 video to a TV or DVD player. Some typical faults are a burned out CCD bulb in the LCD module, a ribbon connector bad or disconnected from the mobo to the LCD and a motherboard fried from spilling your drink onto the keyboard. Opening the the laptop is bad juju if you aren't qualified to put it back together but you can get service procedures if the computer is out of warranty and care to try.

HP dv9000

Hello jarkk, I believe your problem is with your backlight inverter. the hard drive should be installed for this process of checking it on an external monitor. with the hard drive removed it will not boot to the operating system. with the drive in, use the external monitor. if the monitor works when plugged into the external monitor plug, this will eliminate a bad video card. if the screen is still black on the laptop screen, replace your backlight inverter. the last case cenario is to make sure your backlights are not burnt out.
