My boot log must be set up incorrectly on my desk top

If you have boot to disc set higher than your primary hard drive you will typically see this. This is normal and in a few seconds it should boot to your hard drive as normal. If it isn't passing this point you can set hard drive to first boot device in BIOS. Also make sure you don't have any flash drives or external hard drives plugged in. Your computer could be trying to boot from them and it will just sit there.

On the primary hard drive it is connected to the sata1 on mother board. I added another hard drive as a slave. How do I get my system to boot without the boot menu options on

select the primary hard drive as the first boot device, or if you dont have option for this in BIOS, it means that your system boot from the primary drive as default

Loading PBR for descriptor 2... MODEL DELL DV051

That is the boot loader message to boot to the NTFS Primary boot partition (Primary Boot Record for Descriptor 1 is the Utility partition)
Normally, this message flashes and the system boots, since it is not there is a failure in the boot process.
#1 run diags on the Hard Drive (CTRL+ALT+D at boot) and see if it passes
If it does
#2 Boot to you XP CD, press R for recovery console, and run the COMMAND CHKDSK /R see if the system will boot
If no go, go back to recovery console, try the command BOOTCFG /Rebuild then see if the system will boot
If That fails, try reinstalling Windows
If Diags Fail or all the above fail, replace the hard drive

My evo610c would not start and failed the HDD self test. I installed a new hard drive. It now passes the HDD self test, but will not go past the screen that says "not-system disk, replace and try again"....

Put the Windows CD disk into the CD-drive.
Turn the computer off.
Turn the computer on, and immediately look for a message like "press F12 to change boot order", or something like that. Tell the computer to first try to boot from the CD-drive. When it boots, the installation process will start.

My 7Y250MO hard drive starts clicking and after a few seconds the system locks up only fixed by powering down and restarting.

Try doing the self-test for the hard drive. It could be a sign of hard drive failure. Just boot to BIOS go under diagnostics then select Primary Hard-drive Self Test. In hp notebooks, we use f10 after turning it on to boot into bios. Ask your computer manufacturer how to boot to BIOS. If you're Hard drive passed the test you might want to try re-installing the operating system. It could be a sign of Windows crashing. If you're Hard drive failed. There you go. You have to replace the hard drive. Hope this helps.
