Question about Jenn-Air JMV8208A Microwave Oven

1 Answer

Ran microwave empty

I have a Jenn-Air over the range microwave Moddel # jmv8208aas. When I sat the timmer, the zerro button didn't work. I then canceled it out. I set it again and started it. In a little while the microwave stopped working. It went dead no light or anything. I think I may have not hit timmer and run it with nothing inside. Could this cause it to stop working? What part could have gone out? Is it fixable?

I bet it just burned out a fuse. They do burn out and it may have been just when you were running it. Think about it. A fuse doesent go bad waiting to be used. Its all way while they are running or starting up. If you need help changeing it ,let me know. If you can put it on the kitchen table , then you can replace. I will be happy to walk you through the repair. DFD

I'm guessing you might mean JMV8208AAS?

If so, then the service manual is at our site here.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

You can order Jenn Air parts here.

Your problem will be either the line fuse, or one of the thermal cutouts / TCOs in the unit.

In case it needs circuit board repair, see this link.

My Jenn-Air microwave JMV8208AAS will not heat the food and when turn on it makes a loud humming sound.

This is most likely the magnetron, the high voltage capacitor, or the power diode.

We have a Jenn Air Over the Range Microwave Oven JMV8208AAS that seems to have no power. The plug works. Any suggestions?

No power as in nothing lights up? There is an internal fuse on these units accessible behind the control board. Eric

No power to Control Panel Jenn-Air JMV8208AAS

This can happen if one runs the microwave empty instead of user the timer function or if the internal cooling fan fails or if the magnetron is going bad.

Chances are it overheated and the magnetron's thermostat / thermal cutout has failed.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.
