Question about Computers & Internet

No Internet My mom's laptop was connected to the internet for the last 4 months but while she was online yesterday the connection just stopped and everything i tried didn't work. It tells me that it can't find the adapter for the wireless network. also it says that it can't find any network available when its right in the next work.

What kind of internet do you have (dsl, cable, 56k/phone)?

If it is cable or dsl, try unplugging the modem and replugging it back in. Also if you are using a router, do the same to that as well. See if that helps.

Set all your machines to the same network.Either home or public.I do know this has been a win 7 problem.

you might have put in the wrong password or user id check to make sure you have put these in correctly first make sure the caps lock is on/off what ever applies to your user and password id that you provided to your ISP
make sure your modem/routers settings are correct ie:password user name, firewall settings to allow your internet to connect also test the lead/s whether usb or ethernet you might check your modem first to make sure that you are getting a connection
last resort ring your ISP internet sevice provider get them to check your modem for internet access online

Cant connect ,no light on wireless connection. was

you need to setup the wireless connection if you havent already and your router needs to be a "wireless" router in order to create that type of internet connection. Have you laptop then scan for one which would be the one you just made and input the correct information to connect. If that doesn't work I'd suggest getting a new wireless router

My laptop is connected but can't get on the internet. The modem light on the router is blinking orange. The globe is not lit at all. It worked fine for about 4 months until yesterday. I have unplugged both...

go to my connection and check if the wireless was available or connected, if not availale, that means some files of the driver are corrupted. Run your recovery disk.

Internet connection lost..

Firstly try the Off Line option, sometimes this can be ticked. Or go into the Netword Card settings and try to force the speed to auto config, this will enable different speed connections

ok guys ive found the solution. i have a sprint usb aircard and had the same problem for like 6 months and just yesterday i found out how to make it work.

1) connect laptop/ CPU to internet as usual*
2)go to control panel
3) go to network and internet connections
4)go to network connections
5) next tight click on you internet provider thing. and go to properties.
6) click on advanced tab
7) then just follow the instruction to make it a shared connection and thats all to it.

fyi: its probably going to lag alot if your not in a good reception area. other than that the lag is bearable.
