Question about Apple iPod touch

1 Answer

Droped iphone, screen is only white, touch screen works.

I have an Iphone 3G 16gig with a white case. I droped it the other day and when i picked it up the display was completely white. Nothing shows but i can still use the touch screen like all the info is showing on the screen. As the day went on the screen turns a Beige color sometimes and sometimes there are 7 or 8 little lines on the white screen but thats is. The touch functon still works and I can answer calls still. Whats my next step???? Thanks in advance, Gary

It depends on your confidence on opening this thing, I have a 2G and have opened both 2G's and 3G's, Its not an easy task and can brick your iPhone.

Option 1 - Open it using online guides and check to see if the screen connector is fully plugged in. (Again - Not an easy option) Also this is not me promising its going to work.

Option 2 - Send it my way and I can take a look at it for free ( I'm kind like that and I can guarantee I'm not going to scratch it but cannot promise a solution).

Option 3 - Send it to an online repair company (Or if its still in warrenty send it to apple) Some charge to just look at it and then charge for repairs on top.

Its up to you now but I think its most definatly the connector inside thats causing this.

Put it in DFU mode while connected to the computer. to do this, hold the home and power buttons for 10 seconds and then let go of the power but keep on holding the home for 10 secs. the screen will be black and nothing will show up. go to itunes and click on your ipod on the left. then click restore. this should work.

I dropped my iphone 3g flat on screen. now the screen is white. i still receive calls and plays music on a dock. help?

Your lcd is probably out. Look on ebay for it, price range is about 25-35 US dollars. Here is the screen replacement guide link : http://www.portatronics.com/guide/iPhone-3G-Repair-Guide/

Another thing, try resitting your screen wires. #1, #2, and #3. Maybe that will work.

Iphone 3G screen not working after dropping. Not

It sounds like you have some internal screen damage, your LCD may be damaged or your digitizer. A professional will need to take your phone apart and determine the cause.

Iphone touch screen broke when i droped it in water

try to disassemble and replace the battery and screeen as soon as you can, to avoid corrosion in your iPhone motherboard.

in the picture you can see the corrosion in an iPhone 3G motherboard, after 12 hours the device was exposed to water.
So please hurry up, and get you iPhone dismantled and dried.

Iphone black screen & buttons "pressed" while on call

I tried a solution to a similar problem and it worked for this problem, which I was having too. All I did was remove the leather case that I used to protect the iPhone. Calling and the screen worked like normal after I took the phone out of the leather case. Try that.

Which IPhone 3G Case do you like better?

Based on trying a few iPhone cases, I would look for an iPhone case that:   -  doesn't have a cover flap.  Lifting the flap every time you use the phone gets annoying -  prevents skidding.  The iPhone can easily skid off a table; you can lose it or, worse, break it.   -  has a screen cover that doesn't reflect or refract light in awkward ways -  has a screen cover that doesn't get dirty easily.
Many covers may have these qualities.  One combination I have tried and liked is:   -  the "white gel case" at the AT&T store (about $20) -  the "screen protector tri-pack" also at the AT&T store (about $10)
