Question about Nintendo DS Lite

1 Answer

Hi, my daughter's DS Lite stop screen started using different colours. The screen has a greenish tinge and it all looks wrong. It is still under warranty but I would like to know what is wrong with it and can it be fixed?

My daughters Ds Lites top screen has red lines going through it horizontally, that just started this morning. I wonder if it could be a pixel thing. Any ideas?

Hi,
Do you know if the Ds lite has been dropped? It sounds to me that the screens connectior has been dislodged or is receiving too much power.

My best advice is to either send it to nintendo if its under warranty, or if your brave enough take it apart, dissconnect the top screen and then reconnect it. If that doesn't work then chances are you will need to buy a new screen.

If you want more help/advice feel free to message me and I will do my best to help you.

Regards,

DS lite not working after replacing bottom screen

hi friend,i had the same problem....the small cable that you replaced is probably not placed in the connector properly .when you put it in you might have put it under the connector instead of upon it. retry it ,i'm sure it will work.. good luck

RE:nintendo DS lite power light comes on but both screens stay dark?solution

Wotterz.

This is a problem with the cpu on the systemboard. I've seen this problem many times if the DS Lite is felt to the ground. The contacts of the cpu are very fragile. The DS Lite turns on, green led available, even charche is working bot nothing else. Repair of this problem is almost impossible. The only thing you can do is send it to Nintendo.

You can test if it is the cpu by removing the bottom of the DS Lite and put the battery on te contacts.
Press firmly on slot 1 (the aluminium cover) and turn the DS Lite on. If you got a picture on the screens then you know it for sure. The cpu is located under slot 1 and by pressing on de top of the slot you are pressing possible loose contacts back on de systemboard.

If it is not working then the cpu is to musch damaged.

Let us know what you've found with this solution.

Blank/Frozen Screen

Has your console been dropped recently? It sounds like a loose capacitor on the mother board. Five minutes is long enough for it to heat up and pull away from the circuit board.

Sorry, you will need to send the console to be repaired. You can find a number of reputable repair sites on the Internet.

(Since you asked the question, the emphasis is for anyone who may read this).
An after market or R4 card is used to 'backup' games and for other uses, mostly for pirated games. One of the problems with aftermarket cards is that people flash the bios and this fouls things up immensely. When you flash the bios, you are actually rewriting the software that controls the processor. ALL DS LITE CONSOLES DO NOT NEED THE BIOS FLASHED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! All of the after market cards will handle the software changes when started.

I'm not to familiar with the DS's but i beleive that is how they are supposed to boot if a cartridge is already in the unit. If not then there may be an option when booting without a cartridge where you can change the settings so that it will boot to the main DS screen before booting the game. I would check this first then seek further help from a more adequate expert on here.
