Question about Directv Plus DVR DTV Receiver / 100-Hours Video Recorder
I have a DTV+ R15-100 DVR and came home to a blue LCD screen. It seems the receiver crapped out. I am a FCC licensed service engineer and would like to see if I could obtain a "service" manual for this model. I have all the necessary equipment here at home and did some basic component checks and everything looked ok on the power board. No signs of trace lift, burn marks, popped caps, or resistor scorch at all. I unplugged the SATA HDD power cable and noticed the fan starting to resist and it sounded like a relay problem on the PB. If anyone has a service manual or schematic, I would pay to get a copy.

SOURCE: DirecTv DVR Sensor not working
Sat on the phone with direct tv for about an hour.
we were unable to come up with any solution useing codes and reset option. The one thing that might help with your remote:
try pressing the select and mute button together untill the light blinks at the top. Then push 0001 or try 00001
Make sure to point the remote at the receiver.
This did not work for me and they sent me a new reciever.
They of course tried to charge me for the full price of the reciever which they will most certantly try with you.
It souds like you problem started happeing after the last upgrade which is when my problem started happening.
I gave them a little bit of attitude when they tried to charge me for a new receiver stateing that it was ther new upgrade that caused the problem and that if I had to pay for a new reciever I was gonna cancel with them and go with dishnetwork.
(they sent me a new receiver free of charge in 2 days)
They should have been willing to do this whithout any argument but they are trying to get money wherever thay can. Seems pretty unfair cosidering that you can get all this stuff for free when you first sign up.
Also dont let them tell you that it is the remote sensor. I went back and forth with this guy trying to explain to him that my remote worked fine with other devices includeing my other DVR.
He finnally agreed that it was the DVR sensor.

Try unplugging it from it's power source for ten seconds, then plug it back in. If it doesn't find its way out of the start up screen after 5 minutes, it might be time to replace it.

Unplug it from the power for about 30 minutes and then try again. If it still doesn't work I would call DirecTV and discuss getting it replaced.

Unplug the DVR for about 20 minutes and then plug it back in. If that doesn't work its probably time to contact DTV for a replacement.

Take the TV back.It should be under warranty.
LG/Zenith has had alot of problems with there TV's. Buy an extended warranty if you can. It will pay for itself.
