I have a Simon XT. While I was setting it up and testing it, I triggered an alarm in the kitchen, which is a PIR sensor in SN 4 position. Now there is permanently an alarm status associated with SN 4 when I hit the STATUS button. I tried hitting STATUS and then the DISARM buttons, as it says in the manual for clearing an alarm status, but it won't clear. I also tried hitting STATUS and then entering the master code, but that just performs a subdisarm. If I move the sensor to a new SN position, I can get a STATUS OK when I press the STATUS button, but as soon as I move the sensor back to SN 4, the alarm status comes back. Basically, it seems to me that SN 4 is now useless. How do I reset it? I don't want to have to abandon a sensor position every time it's had an alarm.
did you try powering dow the system for 30 seconds then powering it back up. if that does not work i would default the system and start over. sometimes security system control get a spike when your are programing or there just in the idle mode and infor mation get pushed to an unprogramable address on the micro processor and the only way to ourge it is to do a hard reset by defaulting the system.

I have had a working GE Simon 3 for a couple of years. After a recent house remodel, I noticed that the alarm speaker on the panel has been disconnected from the circuit board. There are two possible pairs of pins on the board that the speaker could connect to. When looking at opened panel, there is a pair of pins at roughly 11 o'clock from the speaker, and a pair at roughly 10 o'clock from the speaker. Which of these should I connect the speaker to? Thanks.

My new GE Simon is programmed and ready to go but even though it says doors and windows are armed. Nothing happens when I open the doors and windows in armed mode. No sound, no alarm. I know the sound works becuase when I try to access the panel without an access code it trps the alarm. Also, key chain fobs fail after a few hours. They work fine then lose the code. Batteries have been replaced.
