JVC Digital Video Recorder Problems

posted by carriekell on Sep 22, 2007

When we turn on our JVC - Model # GR-D70U, the picture on the screen is fuzzy and half black. We used to get a message that had something to do with condensation, but we are unable to use it, due to the picture on the screen and the picture through the view finder is half black and won't focus. I'm not sure what to do! Any suggestions?
I have the same problem.

Most models of cameras have a built in feature to give you a message and turn off if it has condensation on the inside components.

Powering back on during this period can cause damage to components. It should remain off in a warm dry area.

Condensation might occur in high humidity, or when switching from a cool location to a warmer place.

Try cleaning your video heads with a "cleaning tape" let it play for 10 seconds then pause.

If that solves nothing your camera may have permanent damage in which case JVC or a repair shop will have to replace parts.
