It might be due to 1 speaker paper jammed or defective 2 any capacitor in sound might be defective. 3 check for proper supply to sound section 4 check components in sound section like ic etc. 5 loose contact or print crack in sound section hope this will help.

How does it work with tv

Normally, when headphones are plugged in, the TV speaker is automatically muted. To use the headphones, leave the TV volume at a normal level, and the speaker sound should stop when the headphones are plugged in.

Volume Stopping Instantly

A few things to consider: if mute on the set is not on what about the box if you are using one?

Speakers could be switched off in the set.
There could be a internal / external speaker switch(not common but possible)
Sound on the set could be muted or turned real low or off.

if the image you see on the screen is there--either it is from the set or a box if one is used.

only a few things other than the sound circuit being bad will cause this--very few sets with actual no sound problems are around.

Have a BA TVee 25 Soundbar. Only able to program Volume Up on my remote. Cannot program Volume Down or Mute. Nothing happens except to turn the Soundbar off and on. Don't tell me to follow...

I had this same problem and it was due to their instructions which do not adequately explain the setup procedure.

On my own, I was successful in programming volume up but that was all. I assumed that for volume down I would hold the power button and the VOLUME DOWN button and wait for the flashing light just as I had for volume up. Problem is, you never get a flashing light.

Today, I spoke with a rep from Boston Acoustics who patiently explained that step one of the instructions has to be done the same way each time as it is the step that puts the soundbar into programming mode.

It is only at step 2 that things change.

The solution is to hold the power button and the Volume Up button every time in order to get the system into programming mode. Once the light is flashing, in order to program Volume Down, you then hold the Volume Down button until the light goes solid. Once the light goes solid, then press the volume down button on your remote 4 times slowly. Works like a charm.

Works the same way to program the mute button. Follow step one to get the unit in programming mode. Once the light is flashing, hold down only the mute button until the light goes solid. When the light goes solid, press the mute button slowly 4 times.

OBTW, this was programmed with a Logitech Harmony 650 remote unit.

The sound/volume turned to mute automatically?

Assuming that you are using one, take the batteries out of the remote, then turn the sound up with the switches on the monitor. Tactile switches somethings get stuck. The mute switch could be one of them. If it is the one on the screen, check the "feel" of the mute button compared to the others. Damaged ones usually feel "flat".

I plug in headphones, but sound still comes out of TV speakers

This information was found on the Dynex website: ( in the frequently asked question section on page 7. If the solution below dos not work for you. You can either go to the website by copying the web address and putting it in your address bar. Once there you can use the e-mail function to talk to customer support. You can also use the Dynex customer support telephone number 1-800-305-2204 between the hours of 7am and 12 am CST. Give them the model number of your television and the problem you are having with the use of the headphones. I hope this information helps you solve your problem. How do I get headphones to work with my TV? o Connect the headphone cable to the headphone jack on the side of your TV. o The sound will be heard through both the headphones and on the TV speakers. o Press Mute to hear sound only through the headphones. o Use the volume buttons on the remote to adjust the volume level. o You must remember to press mute again to hear sound through speakers. It will not automatically come on when you unplug the headphones.

System echos when dvd is in. When I mute the Bose sytem I can hear the TV sound without the echo.

The echo you hear is the audio delay between your TV speakers and Bose speakers. Muting (or lowering the volume) on the TV will eliminate the echo. Some TVs have a setting to turn of TV speakers entirely, allowing you to listen to your TVs audio strictly through your Bose system.

Speakers have low sound

Look into your computer audio setup, usually a icon in the lower right. they have controls for volume, some have different areas such as oper sounds, outdorrs, etc. Maybe these are turned down or muted...Also plug a head set into the CD or DVD rom port in the front if yu have and see if the volume is good. Possible bad audio card. Also try different speakers. Small speakers sell for $20.00 or less.
