My iPhone 3GS fell on the floor and now my home buttom is not working

I suggest you search for somebody who repairs iPhone's and ask him or her to check the internal electronics of your device. An iPhone is a powerful device. Every inch inside an iPhone is used for electronic components, chips and cables. If you drop an iPhone the chance is big that the internal components have damage. If you're lucky it's only a loose cable inside the phone. A technician can just reconnect it but they need special tools and knowledge to open up and repair your iPhone.
You could also go to a store and let them send in your iPhone to the Apple repair centre, but this will be very expensive.
The cheapest way is that you search for a local technician who repairs iPhones. They will actually repair your iPhone. The "repair" service from Apple is actually more like a replace service. They will throw your defective iPhone away and will send you a new iPhone (same model as you sent in) and the repair will cost you the same a a new iPhone.

I broke the charger port on the top needs to be fixxed, sony sent it back saying it wont be covered under warranty.

Hi chrisgard576 you have physical damage. The manufactures are very strict on physical damage. You may be able to get it fix at a repair center. If you got the phone from Best Buy or A local carrier. Now you can go a computer repair shop. They may fix it for a fee. You can call Sony and see if they have a local repair center that will fix the phone for a small fee. I have friends who where able to fix theirs phones but it not easy. The parts are a little pricey.

What to do is this,

Unscrew the phone,
Get a Methylated spirit and a brush,
Bring out the board of the phone and use the methylated spirit to brush off remaining water on phone.
Keep under heat to dry off,
After board is dried, fix it back and screw back phone.

Am sure after doing this phone will work well.
But if phone still doesn't work ,that means water has damage some component inside the phone.
You will need to consult a phone technician for assistance.
Take care.

Heyi have a sony ericsson W995 mobile it has been working fine all day but now it suddenly says insert correct sim card i dont know why its happened.

hi ive had exactly the same problem as you and when i took my phone back to 02 they said it was water damaged, i have since sent it off for a repair with another private company and they have said they are 95% sure its a software fault due to the way my screen was turning black and then saying insert sim, but i shall let you know when i get it back if it has fixed it or it could be something like the sim card reader but please dont be fobbed off saying its water damage they shall just drop a bit off water on the water tab and say its beyond economical repair

Some of my buttons stopped working what can I do?

Most of the time when the buttons stop working on a cell phone it's because either, the user does a LOT of texting or liquid (like water, sweat or moisture) has gotten into the phone. Or, it's been dropped. Either way, it will need to be repaired.

If it was a liquid - like sweet tea (sugar) or sweat (salt) - you may never get it to work right again.

If it's from a small amount of water, a lot of texting, or has been dropped it will need to be sent to a repair facility to have the keypad repaired or replaced. - if there is no other internal damage that has been done to the phone.

Also, you need to consider the real possibility that repairing this phone will not guarantee that the same problem will not re-occur. In my experience, it usually does in a short period of time.

My advice is to get an estimate from a repair facility and then decide for yourself if your money would be better spent purchasing a new phone after learning the cost of the repair.

As a final note, the non-working buttons may also be caused from an issue with the phone's software. You won't know for sure what the problem really is - or how to correct it if it can even be corrected - until the phone is checked by a qualified technician.

I dropped my k850i in water. It started gradually working properly after a few days but it wont charge. Everything else works fine. It just doesn't recognise the charger which I know is working fine.

The phone really does need to be taken apart and cleaned properly using PCB cleaner and any IC's which are damaged need to be replaced, the more you put power into it before the damage is cleaned/repaired the more you are risking further damage...

If you havent done phone repairs before, try a decent local phone shop see if they can take a look at it for you.

If you want to try yourself let me know and I can try and find a guide for dissassembly for you, however I have to warn you a lot of the repairs we get everyday where people have done more damage to their phone by trying to repair it themselves, they are usually unrepairable or cost a lot more as more ends up being damaged than the original fault

Perect phone/broken plexi screen

If you can't get a replacement under warranty there is both an T-Mobile G1 Repair Guide and a third party T-Mobile G1 Repair Service, If you try a self-repair make sure you feel comfortable with opening devices like that.
