only picture is when agp card from my other pc is used, this is why i was going to use the ati agp on the msi kt3 board. the nvidia card is from my way newer, also msi board. and the old pci card works in the newer board, and allways works on the hp p4 system (onboard video)only tried it once and ran it for a while, but it was to see if the card worked. the only difference is one is an amd. the other newer is an intel. xp pro in bolth. i may have to buy another agp card for the msi kt3 ultra. put the ati pci card back in the hp. and the other with the nvidia stay's the same.. unless there is a simple fix. thanks

I would get another agp card and be done with it. these cards can be very cheap now. keep the pci graphics card in the hp. i'm sure that is better than the onboard graphics. good luck.

I'll need some more info!
do you have picture on your screen at all, or you have poor picture.

You say HP, but don't say which one ?!

What OS you are using ?

It is not wise to use PCI VGA in modern PC systems (over P3). No need for that!
You can find AGP or PCIE VGA cards for les than 25 EUR. Any of them will work better (and faster) than the one you are trying.

That would be the better solution for you instead trying to solve problem, even with your NEW PCI VGA card !

At the end, I am not trying to say that it is not possible to use PCI VGA, but just that it is easier to look for another VGA !

PCI VGA should work on both systems correctly.

I believe you have WINXP on both PCs.

Leave the one that works as it is working.

Put the PCI CARD to the MSI KT3 and bott in SAFE mode (F8 button when you turn on)

If there were any VGA drivers installed before, uninstall them. ( START-> Settings -> Control pannel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Display Adapters),
    Right-click and Uninstall !

    Restart !
Windows should find or create a generic driver for your new ATI VGA.

Do you have a CD with (Fresh) drivers for your VGA ?

If yes, put the Drivers CD in, and install the driver, otherwise download the drivers on your another computer, copy and install drivers to your MSI KT3.

Good choice, it should't cost you more than I mentioned before !

    Enjoy !

    p.s. Thks for your vote!

So which video card do i need? i have 845gl motherboard . before installing this video card (rage XL 8mb pci) my pc plays videos and most 3d game very (even gta sanandreas) efficiently but now it is not...

The ATI Rage XL 8MB PCI video card is a very old and low power video card.

PCI graphics cards are not as fast as AGP graphics cards so if your motherboard has an AGP slot (it's the slot closest to the CPU and is usually coloured brown) then that would give you better performance.

These days AGP has been superceded by PCI-Express but since your motherboard does not have a PCI-Express slot then the best graphics card for it would be something like this one:

What video card would be compatable with a insignia computer model d300?

I would recommend any of the Nvidia or ATI video cards that come in the PCI format. Your computer only has PCI slots. These are the older slot types, so your options will be limited for brand new cards, but there's still plenty out there. As long as the slot type is PCI and the chipset is a major manufacturer, it should work with no problem. Do NOT get any video card that says "PCI Express" or "PCI-X" - they won't fit.

Ati radeon 9550 agp with pinnacle pctv hd problem please help

Try to put it on another pci slot. if you are using the one right under the agp, then that is your culprit.  the agp and the top pci slot share video resources.  just put it on another pci slot, if you have to swap another non-video related card to the one just beneath the agp slot.  Hope this helps.

OK, I got into Dell. Your motherboard should support an AGP card.

Is there something in the green slot?

That is the AGP slot. If there is something in it, remove it. The ATI card should work in it if it is an AGP card.

Graphics Card Compatibility with Asus M2A-MX motherboard

Hi Anli!

Well, any GPU with pci expess will be compatible thit that mobo of your.

Its not easy to recomend any specific, it all depends of what you needs are.

Just make sure that the card you upgrade with is for an pci express slot.
A verry good GPU coast around 150-200 euros, a top GPU card cost 400-600 euros
There are ATI cards and there are Nvidia cards, both will suit with your MoBo as long as they are for pci express.

Good luck with your new card M8!
