Question about Comfort-Aire CS-101A Air Conditioner

Broken Knob for fan control

The knob broke and we had been using a pair of pliers to turn the knob post, but now that broke. We need to take the front plastic molding off to see if we can repair the broken knob/post ourselves. Any suggestions?

Re: Broken Knob for fan control

Once you take off the front housing, the switch itself shoud be easy to remove and replace...sometimes, a used appliance store/repair office can get a suitable replacement part. Trick is to mark the wires as you remove them from the switch and take hte switch with you while you go part hunting. Also would help to have model and serial number (and brand name) noted to take along. Papdaddy

If it's just the plastic knob that's broken, go to the following link to find one like yours.

Or check your Owners Manual concerning how to get replacement parts.

The control knob on my Carrier model Vision Aire window air conditioner broke. I'd like to buy a replacement know to control the fan.

Jules, without a correct Model Number (not Vision Aire, that's just a glitzey name), it's hard to steer you in the right direction on where to find the knob. If however, you can come up with a correct model number, you can go to the link below and search for it by your Model Number.

Hope this helped you.

I have an older a/c model no. A494901 (?). The control knob broke off. Is it very hard to replace it with a new knob? And, where would I get a new knob? Thanks, -Fran O'Neill

Depending on your break is the stem leading from the settings selector switch still there or did it break to. If it broke as well you will need to replace both the selector switch and the knob. If not the knob can be obtained from your local Sears Repair Center.

Knob broke off my A/C with the peg inside!

Simple you either replace the knob assembly or use araldite and fix off the broken knob. It is only a temporary remedy and for a permanent solution please replace the knob assembly and get rid off this problem

I need a control knob for a Parkinson Cowan Windsor radiant gas fire urgently please

If you have 2- knobs , just pull the one off the other to control both switches,or take the knob down to a repair , or supply house and get a matching pair, but for now, plyers! thank-you-very-much!

I have an older unit need to know what the top knob does

One of the knobs controls fan speeds, cooling speeds and an off position. Center knob controls temperature and bottom knob more than likely controls air exchange. As for the front cover it would depend on the units age as to if it would be available.
