I need a manual for a Pfaff Hobbylock Serger 4762, where can I find one

I can't find a manual for this model, however there is a general hobbylock book which would certainly be a good start.

You may find best source is to contact Pfaff locally and source it from them direct.

You could also try, I can't see this manual but if you go through similar model numbers manuals you may see one very similar. Overlockers/Sergers are very similar in many ways so once you've mastered one, the next one is pretty straight forward. Four tension knobs, 2 needles and 2 loopers is the norm - to get a three thread stitch you just don't thread one of the needles. Tension adjustments alter the stitch formation, and you should have a stitch length knob on the right side of the machine along with a flywheel and if it has it, differential feed (which controls the feed dogs so you can stretch, or compress the fabric as it goes under the foot).

There are some good general how to use a serger books in the marketplace too which should help. Threading up, many machines have a diagram inside the front flap, colour coded dots on the knobs, eyelets and loopers. And oiling points are often marked on this diagram too. But basically oil the two loopers where they slide/move on another metal part. Some good info here too

Hope this assists you a little.

Hobbylock 797 how to thread

The hobbylocks all thread in much the same fashion.  There is a diagram for a four thread hobbylock on this website.  It would be better if you found a Pfaff dealer to show you as it is quite complicated.

Once you have it threaded, always cut the old threads at the spool and knot new ones on and pull through.  You will have to thread the needles as the knots will not pass through but it does save an awful lot of frustration when needing new colours on the spools.

Need Manual, wife passed and I have no idea on how to thread or use the hobbielock 786

The hobbylock 786 is quite complicated to thread without visual help. Try and find a Pfaff dealer and take it in to them. They should be able to show you and help you though it.
I do not want payment for this.

Hi :) Just got a Hobbylock 788 and need to thread

Here is the trick: If you look at your thread spools, left to right, thread machine beginning with thread from spool 3, then 4, then 1, then 2.

Thread 4 is tricky. You must line up the purple line on the big wheel on the right end in order to do this. Thread the machine according to the diagram on the inside, then, making sure you lined up the purple line, push the lever at the bottom of the machine (below threading guides) to the left while holding on to the thread end. This will push the thread up and along the horizontal arm you just threaded.

Mary - I sympathise with you regarding the "vague manual directions". I have a Pfaff 4862 and if I hadn't found the video, I would never have managed to get it working. There are animated videos at the Pfaff website, just not sure if they would still have them up for the older models - but worth a try, surely.

I am looking for pfaff hobbylock 786 serger manual do you know where I can get one?

ISBN 0-8019-8192-1(hc)? or ISBN 0-8019-8191-3(pb) by Naomi Baker & Tammy Young - "Know Your Pfaff Hobbylock" covers Pfaff Hobbylock: 797, 786, 784, 783 - Great book. This book is more helpful since it has detailed info pics in color- 182 pgs, @$3.00. Lists parts, projects, etc. The 786 manual has errors, 35 pgs. not detailed as the book above. Good luck! Hobbylock 794

You have a timing problem which needs a technician to repair. to do this properly, you need some special gauges which, generally , are not found just anywhere. Take it a technician and get an estimate before you leave it.
