HI and thank you for your information. I have tried twice to go to the site of the mfg (Sakar) and have as yet not received any instruction. The mouse didn't come with any instructions of any kind (as the pkg had stated). When I opened it there was no instructions of any kind. I looked on the mouse as you suggested but I don't see anything that says connect. I figured I could just plug the receiver into the computer and the wirless mouse would work but it doesn't. The receiver does light up and the mouse does have batteries. I also tried the above soluition but didn'treally understand it exactly. It has something to do with having my computer recognize the new hardware but I thought I had to have the new hardware plugged into it before it could do that. but thanks so much for your suggestions.

Can I assume usb on windows XP?If yes, try this:

With a good mouse, go start>control panel>system>hardware tab>device manager>human interface devices. Then right click on anything you see there. Select properties.

On the general tab at the bottom is device usage. Should be set to use this device.

On the driver tab, there should be an update driver button, use it.

If it came with a CD (drivers) put them in and follow the instructions. You usually put the drivers in before plugging in the hardware . Some mice have a place for a battery (make sure + =+ & - = -). then plug the transmitter into the USB socket..now here is what I think is the problem...on the bottom of the mouse (usually) look for a tiny button that may say connect near it. push it and that syncronises the sender with the receiver. If the mouse doen't have one look for the same connect button on the dongle...Hope this works for you...if not go to the manufacturers' web site and look for product support.

The scroller on the top of the mouse does not scroll the page

Go to your control panel of the computer. Click on the tab "Change mouse whell settings" If you do nto find such tab then search for that tab by puttin word "mouse" in the search box.
There you can change scrolling setting. If it doesn't work then remove the wire of your mouse, shut down computer.
Insert the wire and restart computer. This will surely work. If not then contact I'll give you other remedy.

Look through this article and see if any of it helps. http://www.ehow.com/way_5163482_mini-wireless-mouse-instructions.html
Dumb question maybe. You said you replaced batteries. Is the switch also turned "on"? The article says, and I wonder if you tried - rebooting the computer with the mouse turned on and the USB receiver already attached.

Cannot connect wireless keyboard and mouse

I am assuming that this is an INFRA-RED device, with
plug and play capability.

1) Make sure that the infra-red port is turned ON on your PC,
in the BIOS and in Windows (using control panel)

2) Make sure that the infrared driver is working:

My Computer ==> Right Click ==> Properties ==>
Hardware ==> Device manager ==> ....

Find the Infra-red device and check its status.

Some laptops have a mechanical switch witch controls all
wireless ports. If you shut-off the Wi-Fi, the blue-tooth and
the infra-red will also be disabled.

3) Check for tiny reset buttons on the keyboard, mouse and
the receiver. Press them repeatedly.

4) If the device is communicating, and infra-red ICON
should appear on you taskbar (RHS).

Right click the icon and make sure you enable IR
communications AND plug and play.

5) Make sure you have installed any drivers that came with
the keyboard, if any.

6) Again, make sure that infra-red communications are enabled
in the control panel.

5) Failing that, it is possible that the keyboard is defective,
or the infra-red port on your laptop is NFG, it would not
be the first time.

6) You may want to take your keyboard to a computer
shop, and ask the staff the try it with a different PC.

Alternately, try a different keyboard with the laptop.
