Question about Canon PowerShot SD30 / IXUS i Zoom Digital Camera
My camera was working fine until one day when I tried to take pictures, the shutter lens made a very weird retracting sound and the image was all blurry and out of focus. The error code that came up on the screen was E18. Does anyone know what is the cause of this and how to fix it? Also, the playback mode will only work if I turn off the camera then turn it back on.
Error code e18 means that the focus motor gears a jammed, dirt or grain of sand in them. you can try to fix it by gently banging the camera on somthing soft, their are also instructions on web on how to disasemble and fix this fault. BUT unless you have some skills, the right tools and conditions i would not attempt it. leave it to the experts
