Question about Maytag MFD2560HES Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator

Compressor replaced and now just dies- have to unplug and plug back in, but still not reaching temp=-

We purchased in 2005- compressor just died- had A&E services finest come out- it was awful- took 3 weeks to get part and repair- three days later it is just stopping to work- lights on- but the digital read out in fridge just reads dashes no numbers- we have it set at 4 when working- The food in freezer is all soft. The tech was so rude and mouthy and actually was fighting on the phone with customer service about charging us $75.00 visit charge- the customer svc waived because they kept screwing up- sending dishwasher guy and then all the time they took- they were trying to give service- but the tech was so spun up he yelled the whole time and I feel he was not focused on his job- felt like we were sitting ducks after he left- and now we are- we can unplug fridge and plug back in, but still not getting temp up- HELP! :o)

They replaced compressor 4 days ago, the fan is running in compressor and freezer- the compressor cover is warm and there is no ice or condensation at all on rear freezer wall. When we woke this morning and everything was thawed in freezer and warm in fridge we unplugged it and then plugged it back in and it all started working again. Freezer was not up to par all day- then around 5 it started getting cold again and working. thank you! :o)

Thank you- cleaned? He had a tank, the compressor that was delivered to our house and I believe a blow torch maybe to terminate connections or something along with a bag full of tools. It smelled pretty bad - but cleaning with a vacuum never happened - so your solution sounds fitting- I will make a service call for them to come back and fix- thank you! :o)

Thank you- A&E Tech called back this morning and said if all is working fine today then they can not come back until it happens again and they will note on file for next time and for us not to unplug and plug back in to get it started again. I asked about the cleaning and the tech said he was a different one from who installed compressor a few days ago and that to call the 800# next time it happens not their office (I had number on my phone from last week when his cell did not work in my hosue). I asked if he could check with that tech and he said doesn't matter since it is working now- so I said well can you still come out and check to make sure it was cleaned and he said he would charge me a visit charge and labor to do so since there is nothing wrong in their eyes. So we wait I guess - unless I can do it myself? I also called 800 service number to note it on my file.

I now know about your problem with the service tech.

Now tell me about the problem with the fridge.

    Is the compressor fan running?

    Is the compressor Running?

Is the compressor hot to the touch?

    Is the freezer fan running?

Is there a ice buildup on the freezer rear wall?

I believe they did not vacuum the system correctly and allowed a restiction in the line. Otherwise it would have cooled correctly from the beginning.
Your turning the system off and back on allowed the restriction to move further down. It will probably lodge in the filter dryer.
The filter dryer should be changed again. The reason being the system was not cleaned properly when they replaced the compressor.

When I say vacuum, that would be a vacuum PUMP. It would have been attached to the service valves with gauge hoses and run at least 30 minutes before charging with refrigerant.

The purpose is to remove air and moisture from the system(non-condensable elements).

Have power but compressor no work

Tried unplug, replug it back in half or an hour later. Most of the time the the compressor will reset and kick in than it work again. This is a temp solution only, because most of the compressors in frig have this intermittent problems will died again because of over heat the design 24/7 plugin doesn't help especially continue of power to it.Replaced the frig if it more than ten years or replaced the compressor if less.
