Did you have the battery unhooked? Did the amplfier start smoking? Does the amp turn on? Have you shaved a piece of metal at the grounding spot? The amp won't have a good ground on paint... Does the amp go into protection?

Check for shorted speaker wire to car body. Amp will blow if output is shorted. Often times the speakers overheat from amp being clipped. This causes voice coils to swell and short against magnet causing amp to blow

My father in-law just gave me a stereo system he wasnt using. It came with a technic suv98 amp. I hooked up everything but there is no sound coming out. The output indicators are not even showing...

Checked your amplifier connection, it supposed to be like this, amplifier has 2 audio connectors RED is Right White is Left channel, connectors cable should be connect to audio output of the receiver/DVD/CD etc.. and the other end of the cable connect to the input of the amplifier. hope this help thanks

Bass cut off when volume is too high

When an amplifier shuts the Bass off that means its going into protection mode otherwise it will burn out the outputs. One way is to turn your gains down, Pioneer amps are not the best amps for bass out there, they are more for car speakers, I personally wont use a pioneer amp to run my subwoofers especially if they are hard driven subs like JL , Kicker Solo's and MTX subs. But for now just turn the gains down to 3/4 and that should help u, you can also install a fan to keep your amp cooler, if this never happened before in 5 yrs and now it does then that means your amp is just tired and the inside components are overheating easily, thats common with Pioneer and Sony amps.

Good luck buddy.

I have a 1000w amp but it got burned why??

Hello,

I'm sorry but your problem was a little confusing. Your speakers worked fine, you hooked up a 1000W amp and now you cant hear the sound ?

Then you say "they say because the wires were connected wrong in the amp it burned" does that mean your amp burnt out ?

Please post back and sort these facts out for further assistance.
As of right now im not sure if the problem is with the speakers or the amp itself.

My fiance purchased a pair of P1 RF speakers and their matching amplifier. when he hooked them up in our car everything worked well. we unhooked everything and then ran all the wires and re-hooked...

well let me see i can bet something happened so what happened??? i bet the amp is not working right? hahaha here's my sign right!!! all right enough fun. is the light on the amp coming on? you might also need to turn the key all the way to the run position, if not wired exactly right then amp will only power up when vehicle is running or key is in the run position i need to know this before we really go any further. let me know so i can get you up and running quickly.

Amplifier Clips?

trying to draw to much power off the amp, i would say it isnt big enough for the subs you have or the wire (power) for the amp is way to small. car audio has specific requirements exact specs on all of it will make a big difference in the help we can give.

Red Status Light

The most common cause for the protection LED to be lit is shorted output transistors. I'm not familiar with that amp but if you can send me some decent quality photos of the insides, I can tell you what to check.

You should only continue if you intend to replace the defective transistors yourself.
