Acer Netbook decides to flash backwards through previous pages

Hi

My netbook is driving me crazy. Unprompted and usually, as luck would have it, towards the end of writing a message in yahoo for example, it goes crazy and starts darting through previous pages. It is uncontrollable and I lose the message I was writing.

it does this on other web pages too.

Any suggestions to stop this would be very gratefully received

thanks

Katrina

Hi there Katrina.
You have a Virus or infection on the PC , you need to run you antivirus software and antimalware software for a deep scan, while you do this disconnect the PC from the internet.
If still no luck after this please post back.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

My Acer Aspire One A0751h netbook touch pad is not letting me scroll or resize page

If your touchpad is working, but you can not use the special features that it previously had, you may need to update your drive software. To do this, you can visit the acer website and select your model and search for drivers. You should be able to select a sub-category for mice and pointing devices or something along those lines. Download and run the software package and follow all instructions. Restart(if necessary) and look for any third-party software that the driver package installed(e.g. Synaptic). Open the software and make sure that the features that you want to use are selected. Good luck:)

I need to restore my netbook to factory settings but I don't have a flash drive or disk drive

Hi,

With Acer One's there is usually a hidden partition that will allow you to recover the operating system to factory defaults without the use of a flashdrive or a CD/DVD drive.

To recover the operating system please follow the below instructions carefully.

Consider what data you still need from your Acer Aspire One's hard drive. Save the files to an external USB device.

Restart the Acer Aspire One's operating system. Wait for the Acer logo to appear on the LCD screen.

Press the "Alt" and "F10" keys at the same time to bring up the recovery menu. Press "Enter."

Click "Next." Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to restore the operating system back to factory settings.

Use the drop-down boxes to select the time zone and language information for your Acer Aspire One. Restart the netbook when you are prompted to finish restoring the computer.

That should be it. All you have to do from there is restore any files you backed up before the recovery.

If there is anything else please post back.

Regards.

For Acer Aspire One Net Book Check cable connection..! PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM No bootable devise-- insert boot disk and press any key

Your netbook is trying to boot from your Lan/Ethernet connection since It can find no working hard drive to boot from. This usually means that your hard drive has failed.
Also remember that your netbook will try to boot from other drive types including your SD card, USB Memory Stick and even a Magic Jack if you have one inserted in the flash memory slot or USB slot while rebooting the PC.
Many people have mistakenly assumed that their Netbook is messed up because they forget to remove all flash and memory sticks before rebooting.
