Re: intel original motherboard d845gvsr dead

You probably have a physical problem, most likely:

- Broken CPU fan bracket --> the plastic piece that holds the CPU fan in place can dry out and break down. Check if CPU fan is loose.

- CPU fan wire connected in the wrong place --> Intel 845GVSR boards have two power jacks, one says "CPU fan" the other "Chassis fan", plug in the wright one.

- Dirty or broken CPU fan.

If none of the above work try resetting the CMOS --> move blue jumper close to the internal battery from its original position (1,2) to 3,2 position for 10 seconds and then put them back where they were.

Motherboard not powering up

hi this is parveen

solutiom for d845gvsr not poweringup only led flashing--

short pin 92 and 93 of smsc LPC47M172 with fine tip soldering iron .
pin 92 is nrsmrst signal that is 3.3v at time of working m/b when this signal is low than motherboard not powering up so we short pin 93 that is standby (3.3v) and motherboard powering up again and working properly this problem doesn,t come again in future. this solution is 98% working 2% chances to change the chip.

Chane RAM in Intel D845GVSR Motherboard

DDR2 will not work on this board. The most you can get is DDR333 Double sided 1024. Your board has two DDR slots, you can go up to 2 gigs of memory from the info on intels web support.

No power-up only the little green light by the cpu lights up

I tried Parveens solution for this problem on 2 absolutely dead D845GVSR mother boards and it fixed the problem for me on both. On mine you had to permanantly short pins 92 & 93 of the LPC47M172 IC near the ddr ram slots.

There must be a reason for why the motherboard went dead in the first place because from the factory, pins 92 & 93 of this IC are not meant to be shorted. Albeit the motherboards work perfectly the shorting of pins on this IC get over the problem but the original fault is still really there but has been bypassed! Still having said that, what a result!
