Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

ROLLER MONSTER EATS EVERYTHING!!! (Pulls horrifically to the right and won't let go....!?!

The ROLLER on my HP3150 All-In-One printer GRABS SO HARD (on the right side) that I can barely even get one thick piece of photo paper to go through the tray while I HOLD ON to the bottom edge with all my strength!?! And even then it prints at a slight angle and struggles to get through the tray! It completely destroys simple one-sheet-at-a-time typing paper. It eats everything; even 1/4" stacks of paper! How can I tame this BEAST??? Can I fix the roller myself somehow? Please HELP? I tried talking to a HP TECH guy but got nowhere with him. The warranty is shot...and so is my wallet. I've spent way too much on the ink cartridges! Help?

It sounds like the separation pad assembly is worn out on that unit and possibly the pickup roller. Estimated cost is about $98.

You need to take the covers out, remove the main board, remove the communication board, take out the pick up roller assembly, remove the pads, and reinstall.

My canon pixma ip1700 eats all my paper in printing just one page

rubber roller is worn

while the paper load, it is a roller (made of silicon i think) take the job to pull inside the printing mechanic.

there are 2 roller in opposite wich responsible. the upper roller (big one) and lower roller.

to fix ur printer, u must open the casing. note! there are 6 point for plastic snaps (2 low-front, 2 side, 2 back) and 2 screws.

fyuh... now there is ur decission. 1. disassemble the mechanic to take those 2 rollers or 2. let it watch :p

surely this far u must pick 1st option. sorry if i cant pictures the process, 'cause this to me in indonesia called gampang yang disusahin. once do succeed, u dont want to do it again. man so tired with ur eyes.

1. dismount the metal mechanic. there are about 6 to chassis and 1 to main board (u can see the clear). but becareful to the mechanic parts, usualy the springs.
2. now u can get the big roller.
3. release the roller ruber.
4. cover the plastic part of the roller, rounds with 2-3 layers (what u think enough) with rubber tape. this rubber tape usualy to isolate open cable. electrician tool.
5. then put the roller rubber back to plastic.
...this is the hard one. sorry if i can tell the detail, cause my english bad :p
6. (think) u must also take the lower roller. and do the same as the upper roller. becarefull, cause once u missed pulled out the rubber, u might ripped it. then u must replace all the rubber with tape till same thickness, and note for the direction of paper flow. and also note that, dont put rubber tape too thick for lower roller, it might stuck and u must disassemble the printer again.
7. assemble the printer again.
8. the u can now print hundreds while u're left it sleeping.

hehe... next time i'll post the picture. damn, i hate do the repair, now i have to post pictures? c'mon :p

but i promise, if people here finding hard to understand my story. i'll post pictures.

am also did the the job for my ip4500. man... it hurts my back altough my tears drop when i see them prints thousand of paper without pause :D

c ya letta...

u can call me at +628886696663 (expensive international call). if am the one who got trouble. i'll choose wait to see pictures.
