The hose attachment to my Hoover carpet cleaner does not dispense solution. I have tried to prime it as directed in other videos but still nothing comes out. Can someone tell me how to trouble shoot this?

Don't listen to Solution #1, it is simply NOT correct. This is the correct answer:

As you stated, you already know where the water hose connection is. It is under the easily visible port cover on the top of the base.

What is NOT easily visible is the connection for the vacuum hose. That's because the machine needs to be "reconfigured" before the hose can be attached. To "reconfigure" the machine:
1) Remove the cover off the waste water tank and notice how things appear--it will soon be important.
2) Find and remove the "panel" on the front of the waste water tank by sliding it straight up and out.
3) Replace the panel with the connector by sliding it straight down. When finished the top should look something like it did in step 1). This assures that the dirty water will be vacuumed into the waste water tank.
Done!

SOURCE: Hoover Steamvac F5892-900 leaving lines on carpet, does not seem to spray

Is the cleaner sucking up the water like it should? If not , check that the filter on the inside of the lid has a 1/4 in. gap between the filter and the top of the lid. Either that or the water isn't completely being shut off when you release the trigger, in whcih case you would probably have to take it in for service.

SOURCE: Water leaking out bottom with hose attached

The water hose plugs into the solution valve-pressure on the side of the noozle(bottom). There may be a water line that has come loose there, you will have to take the top off to get to it.

SOURCE: Hoover Steamvac hose won't spray water

http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/F5914900.pdf

Before using tool
It may be necessary to remove air from
the system (“prime the pump”) so the
clean solution will flow to the tool. Follow
these steps:
1. Attach tool to hose and turn the carpet
cleaner ON.
2. Put the tool on a hard surface or
against your hand to block off the suction.
3. Wait a few seconds (can take up to
15 seconds). Then squeeze the trigger
and begin cleaning.

GOODLUCK!!!!

Why is water pouring out the bottom when I try to use upholstery attachment?

On many hoover models the hose attaches to the vacuum and is held on by a clip on the hose assembly. There may be some damage to your hose or the place where it attaches to the machine. Inspect these areas trying to locate the point of the leak.

How to take hoover carpet cleaner out of tool mode

Hey there! With most of our carpet washers you only need to disassemble the hose attachment and recline the handle to switch from tool back to carpet mode. If you have done this and your cleaner is still operating on hose mode we recommend taking the unit in to a Hoover authorized service center for inspection. Follow the link to locate the nearest service center to you. Service Center Locator

No water getting to brushs

Hi! Sometimes it is necessary to prime the trigger under the handle to get the solution flowing. To prime the trigger, recline the handle and pump trigger about 60 times. Then, power the cleaner on and squeeze the trigger for about 60 seconds. The solution should start to dispense. If it is still not dispensing there may be an issue with the pump assembly on the cleaner. We would recommend taking the cleaner in to a Hoover authorized service center for repair. Follow the link to locate one nearest you. Service Center Locator

Hoover carpet cleaner won't dispense solution or water. Everything else works.

1.Remove bottom tank and look for pinched hose. 2.Use small screwdriver or toothpick on small holes which disperse solution-remove rotating brush first. These were problems with my steamvac (f5861-900 model).

Soap/water solution pouring out on floor when trying to use hose & attachments

The attachment hose is torn right where it connects to the motor . And there should be a trigger on the end of the hose right below where it connects to the hand tool.

Model #5880-900 Hoover spin brush carpet cleaner

i WAS LOOKING AROUND FOR A SERVICE MANUAL FOR MY F5897900 CARPET CLEANER AND I SAW SOME THING ABOUT HAVING TO "PRIME" THE PUMP. YOU PPARENTLY TAKE THE TOOL HOSE AND HOLD YOUR HAND OVER IT FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS. THIS MAY OR MAY NOT WORK.

ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND A SERVICE MANUAL FOR A HOOVER CARPET CLEANER? SEEMS TO BE A VERY CLOSELEY GUARDED SECRET.
