You don't say what's receiving the deck's output. You will need a minimum of one RCA audio cable pair to carry the audio from Audio OUT L&R to your receiver (or TV or whatever) and one single RCA cable to carry the video from Video OUT to your TV or monitor. If you're experimenting with a receiver or multi-input TV, try other line level audio inputs and make sure your select the correct one.

Sound on my viedo is not working

The C182 records audio but does not play it back. To hear the audio, first transfer your videos to your computer and play them there.

How do I get the picture?

The TV is usually set to Channel 3 or Channel 4. You may have a switch on the back of the VHS recorder near which is marked Ch3 Ch4.

Once you correct this, try the following procedure.

Some VHS have a tracking button that allows the user to tune to the best signal. The tracking can also be done from the remote controller.

Usually that tracking function is used as follows.
While movie is playing on the VHS unit and signal gets fuzzy, press the channel key repeatedly (for example >> to increase the channel number). f after awhile pressing the same channel change button does not find a better picture, you should press the other channel change button (to decrease the channel number <<) to see if the picture improves.

If that does not work, IT DOES NOT MEAN that you tv/vcr combo unit is defective. It could just be the movie. The tape is magnetic and it might have been accidentally demagnetized.

If picture is better with another movie/tape, your unit is definitely OK.

I have a vhs/hq ..i have visual but no audio for a program i recorded last thursday. I tried recording from tv now and still no sound but picture. I played other movies or previous recorded things in vhs...

Try first to ensure that the scart lead at the back of the set or any AV leads that you are using are secure and tight.

Sometimes if the scart lead is not pushed home correctly it will lose audio. Try then to record a sample of video and try playback.
If there is still no sound try another scart lead first.

It will be a process of elimination I'm afraid.

Not true. It does have a mic, but you have to upload the video to your computer to hear the video with sound. It doesnt have a speaker but it was a mic.

I have a Sony SLV-EZ717

It sounds like the taped program was recorded on a different speed. The other VCR that you are playing the taped program may not have the speed needed to play it correctly.
Next time when you record a program try to make sure you use a speed that will be compatible on both VCRs.
For example a tape that last 120 minutes, using the different speeds will give the following recording times.
SP means "Standard Play" >>>> 2 hours
LP means " Long Play" >>>>> 4 hours
ELP means " Extra Long Play" 8 hours

Older VCRs have all the 3 speeds but newer ones only have SP and ELP.
Hope this helps.
