Apex 32" TV - Blue Screen & Channels keeping running/changing
Started up the TV, got a Blue Screen, and channel selectors in the upper left appeared and kept constantly changing, 2, 3, 4, dvd, etc.etc.,etc.
Could not get a picture/reception from Direct TV.
The On/Off button would not turn the TV on, only the Remote can turn it On and Off.
Any ideas on what could be the problem, or should I just get rid of this boat anchor?
Would appreciate some advice.

Re: Apex 32" TV - Blue Screen & Channels keeping...
Blue screen indicares that there is a problem in blue cathode circuit.
1 blue video output supply.
2 blue video ckt defective
3 signal from chroma ic to blue cathode missing.
4 loose connector
5 crt base loose.
6 chroma ic defective.
I think sound will be ok .

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control and use the arrow buttons to scroll down to the "Parental Guide" option, then press the "Enter" button. Type in the default parental code "6688" if you have not set your own code. If you have set your own code, type it in. If you set your own code and forgot it, override it by using "6688." Use the arrow keys to switch the parental lock to "OFF." This allows all programs to be viewed no matter the rating. Press the "Exit" button on the remote and start watching all your channels
2. Switch the player off and then back on. This is necessary to clean-boot the firmware.
3. After the "No Disk" message appears, do the following.
4. Press the REPEAT button - just above the TV channel selector at the bottom right of the controller.
5. Enter 7 6 8 8 4 on the number pad.
6. After a sec or two, the region code (for whatever region it is
currently set to) should appear at the top left corner of the screen.
7. Wait till this number disappears.
11. Enter a "9" to make the player region free. Wait till the number 9 disappears.
12. Power down and power up again.
13. Play a foreign DVD to verify the change.
Please Note your timing , when entering the code is crucial, dont press the buttons too quickly but also dont enter them too slowly, dont pause while entering them either, or you will have to start again. This is very important if you found this info useful please vote for me
On your remote control (with tv off) 1. press Display, channel 5, Volume Up and then Power this brings up the service mode (you will see some green text on your screen) 2. Press channel 2 to scroll through options until you see "Micro" in the upper left of your screen (channel 2 cycles up through the options, channel 5 cycles down) 3. Press channel 1 to scroll through suboptions until you see "DIOF" appear under "Micro" (channel 1 cycles up through the suboptions, channel 4 cycles down) 4. Press channel six until the default value (12:60) changes to 12:40 (channel 3 increases the value, channel 6 decreases the value) 5. Once the value has been changed to 12:40, press Muting and you should see red text in the upper right hand corner that says "Write" 6. Simply turn the power off and back on for the change to take effect. Your volume problems should now be fixed.
either burn in or magnetic field interference. I suggest moving any speakers away from the tv. if thats not the case, then find a strong magnet, make sweeping motions across the screen with it but dont touch the screen! Keep doing this until the colors change, then "sweep" them with the magnet into a corner and they will mostly dissapea.......r, sounds complicated but worked for me. can be scary so dont try unless sickly despearate or confident. Hope This helps!
