Question about Onkyo TX-DS747

Cant select A or B speakers

I bought the receiver at a pawn shop yesterday. I got it home and hooked it up and can't get any sound. I had them hook it up at the pawn shop and it worked great. I have been around sound systems for a long time. I know how to hook them up and didn't cross any wires or ground anything that I know of. the system wasn't even plugged in while I made my connections. The A/B selector buttons move and don't seem stuck but A or B on the face plate are not lit. I have tried all the surround modes and hooking speakers to A and B. Any Ideas?

Same problem. Have this receiver in the shop where I work, and came in today to discover this problem. It's been working fine until today... Possibly in the speaker wire? I don't know. Can't think of many other things that'd cause this.

SP OFF mode?

if you turned it on without speakers hooked to it you may have blown the speaker output amps or if the end of the amp remote wire touched a ground you may have burned a trace on the board did you here it play at the pawn shop? or did it just light up? sometimes the people at the pawn shop think if the unit lights up it is working and sometimes they check them is just hook power to them without speakers if so this can blow the speaker output I would take it back to the pawn shop

I have the same problem with my 3 year old Dell 32 inch Tv

Yesterday I went to the pawn shop and purchased a Sony receiver they just got it in a couple a days (pawn shop) ago. The receiver is in great shape still had the stickers on them for less than 100.00. We hooked the speaker and the cords black/yellow/red to the in/out in back of the TV and the receiver. Wow! Great surround sound and the TV works like new. Please do not go and buy a sound board you will be wasting your money and the same thing will happen again and again. Dell sucks!

Bought ipod from pawn shop

the Ipod once you hook it up to the computer becomes like an external hard drive. hook it up go into my computer look for what looks like a new drive then open it up. once you do that go to edit select all then go down to delete click on it. it should get rid of all the files that are there. to put new ones on the ipod find the songs that you want and drag and drop them in the ipod drive.

Tv hook up!?

First you must be on the audio outs in back of tv set. then you must go into menu, if not already and change audio to varible output, or external speakers or just what ever yours say in menu. then you must turn receiver to the right inputs to get sound. Hope this helps.

Surrond sound

For Stereo Mode (Front L & R Speaker), you must plug RCA cables (match up red and white) from Output on DVD player to DVD Input on the back of the receiver. Then with speaker wire, run from receiver speaker output (Front Speakers) to designated speaker (make sure + and - match up to both input and output). As for hooking up surround sound, I'm currently trying to figure that one out with just using the L, R and Center. I don' t want wire running all over the place just for rears. Hope this helps
