Part number discrepancy

I am replacing a Jandy pool light relay/dimmer module. The assembly number on the part is #6785. The assembly number on the parts offered on the internet is #6587. It looks like the same part. Is it?

The correct number is 6587. This should have a small pcboard attached. These dimmable relays tend to be short-lived if used regularly. I generally use a standard 3hp (6581) relay in its stead. They are a good bit cheaper and last much longer. The downside,of course, is that the light is either on or off.

You or some one else may have assigned the AUX 3,4 to "dimmer" in system settings. Check the setting and make sure it is not set for color lights as well.

Why is my timed auxiliary continually going on and off for short periods of time?

Two things come to mind, (neither may be the cause). The first is referred to as "ghosting" where more than one program exists for the auxiliary and they over lap. This can cause erratic behavior from the system.
The other is that somehow your light dimmer has been activated. The light dimming relay is an option not included with the standard system. If it is activated and there is no dimming relay, this will also cause weird things to happen.
Try clearing all programs and then switch off electricity to the power center (outside unit) for a few minutes. Reprogram for the desired times. If the problem persists call a factory service rep at Jandy. At 22 years the board may need replacement.

Jandy RS Light dimming relay replacement failure

Two things come to mind. Check the 'coil voltage rating' on the relay and make sure that's the voltage that you are powering the relay with.
Nest question is the 'relay contact rating'. The contacts have a current rating that needs to be checked. If the load that the relay feeds is pulling too mcuh amperage through the relay contacts, they will fail. The rating is on the relay, must check both of these things.
