Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Unfinished Flashing I Used RSD Lite 3.2 in updating the flex with the flex file "apristel_premod_mp_v1.shx" to my Motorola v3. Ufortunately i was not able to backup the original flex including the IMEI of the phone. The story .... in the beginning it looks fine as in normal procedure goes smooth, not untill the RSD Lite say REBOOTING the Phone.... Then its gives an instruction "Please manually Powerup the Phone" someting like that..... Then in the system tray gives a baloon "USB Device not Recognized" then the Phone is Partially dead because when i turn it ON it will just light in second and power off again.... Please Help me...... Thanks in advance..........

Re: Unfinished Flashing

Well now you need to take the phone to a professional mobile service center or technician and have them reflash it and bring it back up.

First of all, if you have a Razr v3 phone and would like to unlock it, I would recommend reading this thread: by scabbins, which I think was originated from: or perhaps from

1. CellPhones have something like a Operating System, and also a BootLoader, which loads the Operating System. You can view the version of the Bootloader and the software(Operating System) of the phone by holding down * # and pressing Power button when the phone is turned OFF.

2. You will often hear terms "Put the phone in Flash" or "Flash the Phone". When they say put the phone in Flash, it means, turn it off, hold down * # and press Power button. What happens is that you will see text displaied on screen with the version of bootloader and version of software( SW ).

3. After you read the above mentioned tutorials keep some points in mind: First, If your Bootloader version ends on 26, and you use the "Downgrader" software mentioned in tutorial, there will be a point while running downgrader, when it will stop and tell you it is waiting for phone. (This happened only once, when it was waiting for a while) what I did is put the phone in flash mode manualy, that is I pressed * # and Power. After doing so Downgrader continued working and finished sucessfully. After putting the phone in Flash mode again, you will notice that now the Bootloader version is 7D0.

*Note: Flashing a phone means reinstalling the System software on it. "Flash the phone with "somefilename.shx" means taking "somefilename.shx" file and using smartmoto(software) or RSD Lite(software) to rewrite the system software with a new one contained in "somefilename.shx".

Now, If you did everything the way tutorial suggested, but The phone still tells you to "Contact Service Operator" be calm, and dont start shooting neighnpours. I will consider you as an experienced user from now on, and read how to make it work in next section:

If you tried all that is saied in tutorial, and phone is still locked, then you are in the same situation that I was. Here's what you need to do: (by the way I found solution by reading all messages in so credit goes to guys there)

you will need to do this:
1. Downgrde bootloader if you have 26 version.
2. Install OLDER version of software(SW) on phone. ( Dummies, this means Flushing the phone with old version of .SHX file) I found those files on this site: and for the old version I used: R374_G_0E.40.79R_MOTOX.shx .

(Dummies notice, put the phone in flash mode, connect the usb cable and flash the phone using smartmoto or any other software that you prefer with the above mentioned file).

Important Note 1: After this phone might not reload (dummies, I mean by this that you will not be able to start the phone as you did, you will see a blank dark screen.

Do not panic, put the phone in flash mode again and run the Unlocker mentioned in tutorial. This time it will work, but you still will not be able to start(reload) phone.

what you need now is to flush newer version of System software on phone, I used R374_G_0E.42.10R.shx from here:

now the phone will reboot, and will be unlocked!

Note, flushing deleted all my data and phonebook entries, you might want to back them up using Motorola phone tools before you flash the phone.

Thats it.And remember, always read threads carefuly before asking questions

How to mod your motorola Razr

Requirements: windows xp, Vista, or higher
a computer with enough space for the below programs, and a USB cable

Motorola Flash and back up
Motorola RSD Light
Motorola drivers
Flash (*.shx) file

find the flash file you would like on your phone (I had used the I-Phone shx file)
Plug your phone into the computer
Start Flash and backup
this step is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT incase you BRICK your phone:
Back up your phone (boot loader and phone)
Start RSD Light (after back up is completed)
click show device
click the 3 dots next to the file name entry field
browse to the file you would like on your phone
select it
hold down control key
select the new firmware (can keep the old firmware if you would like)
click start.
Your phone is now being flashed to your desired system that you selected.
depending on the shx file, this may take some time. once this step has been completed, you have a completely modified phone. if you want to modify the phone further, there are some seem editors that can be used (I tried p2k seem editor, that didn't work very well) and I had found another one, but I dont remember it's name.
Good luck, and as always, be careful.
thank you for taking the time to view this post. I hope it was helpful. email me if you would like more information (guest.user73 at

No. i need to unlock my motorola razor v3 for

My friend gave me a razor to unlock last night that he just bought from a long time user on Cingular network. Since I unlocked without trouble I thought I would help someone out. Basically you need to flash one software into your phone, then you need to run another program and unlock it. Here is how I did it. Download and install EMULE, a free program. Run EMULE and select edonkey network only and forget KAD network during setup. Don't upload with emule in chunks as I believe it takes more processing power from the PC. Now run EMULE and click Connect. After it connects search for a program called P2K.EASY.TOOL. It will be around 6.2MB file. Extract all the files and look for a file called P2K_Easy_Tool_v39 and extract this also. Next, you need to get the program called RSD Lite 3.0. Again get this file by searching emule for this and downloading. Then install the program by double clicking on .msi or right click and click install. Now get the program This can be found quicker at This file may not be necessary or this step! CHARGE the phone to full charge. I forgot two more file are needed! You'll need to USB drivers for the phone. The ones I used were v3_drivers.exe (search yahoo) and always click continue anyways. Finally, you will need bl_826-828_to_07d0_ for_V3_by_Archy.V2.shx (no space between 07d0_for_) and this file can be gotten at If you attempt to communicate with the phone it may want to install drivers and you may have to do the operation again. When installing drivers, just specify the folder where you extracted USB drivers. Now lets get started. Plug the phone into USB cable and turn on. Run the program called RSD Lite 3.0 and then it should say connected and show your phones IMEI #. If not, you could restart phone, but press # and * with one hand then start up. Now it should say in RSD LIte 3.0 something different. You can leave it like that or restart phone and then you should definitely see IMEI #. Now click on FILE in RSD Lite 3.0 and search for the file… and click OK. Now lets downgrade the bootloader, click START. Wait tell it is done and finished at 100%. Don't even mess with the computer during this time or any cables. Turn phone off and hold down * and # on phone again and turn phone on into Flash mode again. It should say 07d0 now or be a blank screen, which is fine. Now run the program Motorola_Unlocker_2005, click send to phone. It will do something and your phone will reboot. If it is unlocked then you are done. If it didn't work as mine didn't with this step then turn phone off for third time. Again boot up in flash mode by holding down both * and # and turn on with other hand. It will be in flash mode with black screen. Now run the program called P2K_Easy_Tool_v39.exe and there is one other file in this folder called winscard.dll. Click on LOCKS and then select your phone model. Now select Unlock SP. Click on DO SELECTED JOBS. It should show the status above and will do some work, then reboot phone do some more work and power off, I remember. That is it turn it on and you are done. Lets sum this up on what is needed. EMULE, P2K.EASY.TOOL, RSD Lite 3.0,, bl_826-828_to_07d0_ for_V3_by_Archy.V2.shx. You could probably skip the step. If for some reason you destroy your phone! You have a 80% chance of recovering it by going to… and getting one of these three files, extracting it. Then flash it into your phone with RSD LITE 3.0. Do not do any of these steps if it is illegal in your country or you don't deserve to use your phone yet or buy talk time from a network!!…

I had the same problem with a phone that was donated -- user forgot the pin to unlock the phone. There is a way around this. You will need to reflash the phone. I used RSD Lite, which is a Motorola Utility for flashing their devices.

But first, you will need a flash file to overwrite the one on your phone that is associated with the pini code. To find an appropriate flash file, search for "ModMyMobile" which is a forum that has various Razr flash files. You will need to enroll, but its free.

Locate and download the appropriate .shx file and unzip to a directory on your computer that you can easily find.

Run RSD Lite and connect your Razr with a USB cable. The program should locate your phone and put it into bootloader mode... don't panic, it is supposed to. Now click on the "..." button up top, locate the unzipped .shx file and hit "Start".

It takes about 5 minutes to reflash and presto - you phone is working again! :-)

I forgot my unlock code for my moto razr V3

your firmware is corrupt, the only way to revive your phone is re flashing it.Its hard to do, and by doing it wrong may damage your phone. To safely retrieve your phone is let the experts do it or go to a near cell repair shop and let them help you out,

if you want to do it your self, try this

first you need is a RSD lite program or flash and back-up to flash or reformat your Motorola,

to enter the bootloader

hold * then the # then power button, your phone will boot to bootloader, and you will see there the flash program of your phone,

start the program rsd lite or flash and backup
then connect it to your computer VIA usb, automatically the program will detect your phone,

i prefer that you first buck up your firmware by using F&B (Flash and backup) then use RSD lite to flash your Motorola,

RSD lite its much easier to use than F&B, but for safety backup first your firmware,
