There may be a little piece of paper that tore off that is still stuck in the printer and making it say that it is jammed. Look very closely at the rollers and make sure there is nothing there.

Re-assembling a Brother HL-1430

Is that the small piece at the back? It has 2 little click thing that you need to push then insert it to the back of the printer. It would be better if you can send us screenshot or pic of that part?

Red alarm light is on

If the Red alarm light is on and the toner light is on means the toner need to be replaced.

If the red alarm and paper light are flashing means misfeeding or no paper, or paperjam.

Click on the link below to see what the lights all mean.

I was printing then it made a siren noise now the alarm light wont go off there isnt a paper jam

usually that siren noise is when the bearings go bad on the laser unit, if it's not turning now, you won't be able to print until you replace the laser. They are available at just look up your model and find the laser unit.

I did a front feed on my Brother HL-1230 printer and now the cheque is jammed in the printer. How do I get to the drum to remove the cheque?

Open the front of the printer via the 2 tabs on the sides of the front door. Lift the toner/drum assembly out of the printer. You should be able to see the paper in the unit. Carefully pull the paper out of the unit. You may want to run a few pages through the printer to pick up any residual toner before printing another document.

Torn paper jam Brother mfc 440cn

I pull paper out to remove it too, no worries, who doesn't.
You may be able to open the back of the unit up and there are a few rollers there than can be manipulated. Make sure it's unplugged. Don't force too hard but a little push or pull wont hurt.
Try rolling all the rollers that are in reach to see if you find anything, and they may need to be cleaned a little (not with anything wet!) with your finger is fine...they collect paper dust. You can blow in any area to try and clear any other paper dust also.
Let me know if this helps.

Check paper alarm

There's most likely a paper jam. Open the door on the bak of the printer and check there first. If that is clean, remove the drum/cartridge assembly and check the front. You should find a piece of paper stuck in one of the two locations.

Printer reset re Brother HL 1230

Resetting the printer should clear the flashing leds (flashing lights.)

How to Perform A Factory Reset:
1. Turn the printer off.

2. Hold in the circular button on the front panel of the printer.

3. Turn the printer back on.

4. When the DRUM light is lit by itself let go of the button. Hold in
the circular button on the front panel again. Once the Alarm light comes
on, let go of the button. This has performed a factory reset on the printer.

If the alarm continues, the printer may need service.

Alarm light stays on

i had a similar problem, but my alarm light was "only" blinking. here is what i did (and might work with your printer too): open the front and take out the drum&toner unit. take out the toner cartridge und put a little piece of paper in the hole (the one you can look right through to the other side) either at the right or left side of the cartridge. put the toner in the drum unit and then everything back in the printer. after that my printer worked and still works fine.
