Re: RS2652C

I tilted the player to the right side (viewed from the front) to better see the speaker terminals and heard a clunk. When I sat the player back up I was able to open the drawer. I found two of the CD’s had fallen out of the proper holder on top of another CD (three CD’s in one space. After I put the CD’s back where they belonged the unit worked fine.

I assume one of the CD’s didn’t seat properly after playing and caused the mechanism to jam.

Hope this helps your problem.

3 cd's are stuck in player and the 5th changer won't open

Unplug it from the wall and give it time to power down. When you plug it back in it will reset itself and the changer will open. Pretty much the way a computer resets itself when you unlug it completely. Also works on my DVD player when it jams up

CD changer won't open. Mechanical Error on display

There is a small hole just above the door on most CD changers. Unwind a small paper clip and GENTLY push it into the hole. This should release the door, and let you look inside. Don't force it because you could damage it more than it is already.

I have a Denon UD-M5 that's 10 years old but has been working fine. I have just moved house and I think it was damaged in transit - the CD display just says ERR and I can't open any of the the drives....

Neither of the earlier responses actually understand the problem. What's much more likely is that, unlike a mechanically stuck drawer or derailed CD, you won't hear _anything_ when you fire up the unit. And, if you switch on the unit with any one of the 'load' buttons (rather than the power button) you'll get an ERR msg for that slot. Our unit was about the same age, so not surprising to see a similar failure. It's a tiny fuse on the top circuit board. The UD-M3 suffers from the same fuse blowing--theirs is labled PR003; on the M5, it's PR004. Look on the extreme right edge of the top PCB for a small orange resistor-looking micro-fuse with a '750' beside it. That stands for 750mA, which is what I went down to Radio Shack (The Source) and bought for $2, along with an inline fuse holder ($5). It's a small screw-together capsule with 4" leads on either end. Solder each end on either side of the blown component and you'll be back in business for under $10 and about an hour's effort.

My rca rs 2657 cd changer is stuck. door will not open. any ideas how to correct?

If you hit the open button and you hear a sound like a motor running than it is most likely a belt or connection that physically opens the tray. You'll have to take it apart, locate the cd player and check from there. If no sound of a motor running when the button is pushed then the motor is probably bad.

CD player doesn't work

take the back off the unit, around the laser somewhere you will see a small plastic nob. turn it to the right half a turn then try a cd. if it doesnt work try more to the right or less to the left. this will more than likley be the reason if the unit is more than a year old

How can I get the cd changer to stop changing non stop?

Something is out of timing. When powered up, the unit trys to get to a known state and will continue until it reaches that state. If the timing of the gears has been changed, this may not occur.

I'll try to see if I can create a set of instructions to re-time this.

My XL-MP130 stereo makes a racket...

What your machine is doing is... whenever the unit is powered on or off the cd player resets itself and the clanking you hear is the cd changer resetting itself.  The plastic trays of the cd player are driven by plastic gears.  These gears are noisy when new, after a few years, they can make quite a clanking noise.  Most cd changers of this age have similar mechanisms and this type of noise is inherent in their operation.      I'm afraid the only solution is to replace the unit.  Opening the unit to lubricate the gears may cause more problems than it may solve, so I would not recommend it.

RCA RS2025 Bookshelf Stereo CD Player Hangs Up

Look for a reset button at the back or may be at the front head of the cd changer. It is a very small 1mm hole.If you find it insert a paperclip in it,press and hold it for 1 min. This will reset the unit.If you still face the problem then just unplug all the cords of the changer for 1 hour and then plug it back in.

Onkyo MC35T model C707CHX

I have the same problem on a refurbished unit I bought 2 years ago. I read at the time that this is a common problem and you just need to send to an Onkyo service center. There are links on the Onkyo or ShopOnkyo website.

Lousy design I guess.
