Water in the bottom of the refrig

Frequently water collects in the bottom of the refrigerator under the crisper and vegetable bins until the bottom is full and then the water runs out of the refrigerator onto the floor. Thanks for any suggestion.

I have a side by side Frigidaire refrigerator. In the freezer section, water collects at the bottom of the crisper and freezes. At least once or twice a week I have to clean the ice out so I can draw out the crisper. What might be causing this.

Amana refrigerator with freezer on top model TZ22Q 15 years old. Water collects under crisper at bottom of refrig. Problem is that the water created by defrost heater can not flow from base of freezer thru the alum tube (on back of unit) into defrost drain pan. I removed tube and plastic connecter tube from the back of the unit. They were both unblocked. There was ice blocking the drain hole near the defroster heater. Melted water puddles and flows to right corner then dripps down the side of the fridge compartment and collects at bottom under crisper. At this time I don't know why ice is blocking the drain hole. Either it is clogged by dirt or defrost heater isn't working properly. I am trying to figure out how to take the plastic base of the freezer unit out to expose the drain

HI thanks for your question. the drain tube is clogged. to repair turn fridge off, for at least 24 hrs. as the frain tube is between the inside and outside wall. so its just not dirt in the drain tube, its frozen . to clear after 24 hrs . purchase a small plastic tube , go to the drain tray at the back shove the small hose up the drain hose and blow air up the tube . it will unclog. thanks the appliance doc. please rate my answer. thanks.

We had to call in a tech for repair. The tech removed the drain pipe panel and kept pouring warm water using a bottle squeezer with an extended nozzle pipe so the water would reach the drain hole behind the drain pipe. At first the water came back inside so we knew something had blocked the drain hole. Finally after about 10 cups of warm water pumping, a tiny piece of what looked like a spinach leaf came out. Apparently, that leaf must have frozen in the hole and ice that surrounded the frozen leaf blocked the drain hole. This is something we can do ourselves if we know what to do and how to do it.

I have the same problem. The only thing that has ever worked for me is to completely defrost the freezer and fridge. I think some fridges have the drain holes behind the wall panel, and it gets blocked by ice from the freezer. A friend told me I have to periodically defrost the fridge even though it's "frost-free."

If there is a hole under the crispers, clean this out (ie. suction with a turkey baster.)

There is water collecting continuously at the bottom of my fridge under the crispers. Do you know how I can fix?

Most frost free refrigerators take water from the freezer so you do not have to defrost the freezer. That being said there should be a drain under the crisper. Check to see if it is clogged.
you may need to put something under the refrigerator to collect the water..

Water leaking onto the floor and down the back of refrigerator to the bottom under the vegetable crispers?

You have a problem with the auto defrost drain system.Carefully take off the cover by the light and control and see if you can clean out the drain. Sometimes you can get to it from behind the refrig. but that means you have to move the refrig out from the wall.Hope you find this helpful.

My Roper refrigerator collects water in both vegetable bins. Help!

Remove the food and the ice maker from the freezer ( if equiped ) . Remove the rear freezer panel . Using a hair dryer , start in the middle , below the coils , defrosting , until you see the drain hole . Use hot water to help defrost the hole . Once water starts going thru the hole , use a small hose inserted into the hole , and blow thru , to remove any unseen debris in the drain line . Use an ALUMINUM solid wire , 14-16 guage , with the insulation completely off , and insert one end into the drain hole as far as possible without any force . Wrap the other end about 1 1/2 to 2 turns , around the black rod (defrost heater) , above the hole . When refrig goes into defrost , the heat will transfer from the heater , to the wire , keeping the hole from freezing up again .

Water collects in bottom of refrigerator under fruit/vegetable bins

When a fridge goes in to defrost it melts the ice on the coils in the interior of the freezer. Often times there is a drain that runs to a sliding tray under the fridge. If this is clogged you will get water building up under the bins.

Water collecting under the crispers

Defective thermostate switches off the compressor and then switches on the compressor before time. Please replace the thermostate to solve this problem. There is no defect with the compressor or there is no refrigerent leak too since you have good cooling. Only it require replacement of thermostate.

Vegetable section too cold, freezing the vegetables

if youd like you can remove the affected crisper, locate the "adjustment slidelever" and remove it, behind there youll find a hole(which is what youve been restricting to lessen the cold air flow.) try wadding up a ball of perma-gum, window sealer, some sorta plug forthe hole, its not nessecary for function of refrig, only to make the crispers colder, but usually too cold. blocking of fthe hole willl make the crispers only as cold as rest of refrig
