BlackBerry Unlocking BASIC FAQ's!!!

<span><span>What does unlocking mean?<br /><br />First, you should understand why phones are locked in the first place. Network providers lock phones so that that you are forced to use their network at their rates. No other SIM card will work in their phones. You cannot take advantage of better rates from other providers. A locked phone is subject to roaming charges.<br />When you unlock your phone, you are free of these restrictions. There is no more restriction placed on the phone by a network carrier.<br /><br />Are there advantages to unlocking my phone?<br /><br />After a phone is unlocked, you are free to use any network and any SIM card of your choosing. You can insert and use SIM cards purchased while abroad and take advantage of better rates for calls and SMS messaging.<br />You no longer pay roaming charges, and you can switch back and forth between carriers/networks. Other advantages are the increased resale value of your phone. Locking is a guaranteed safe procedure for your phone and cannot harm it.<br /><br />What is a SIM?<br /><br />A SIM stands for a 'subscriber information module'. It is a chip inserted into a GSM handset and allows the phone to work within a given network. It identifies who you are, knows to send calls to you when your number is dialed and also controls your calling rates according to your contract or pay-as-you go carrier plan.<br /><br />How do I know if my phone is locked or not?<br /><br />That's a simple one. Just borrow a SIM card from a friend that comes from an alternative carrier from yours. If the phone works, your phone is unlocked. If you get an error message, it means that your phone is locked.<br /><br />Do I have to unlock my phone every time I change SIM cards?<br /><br />No. Once unlocked, your phone stays unlocked.<br /><br />Do I save money by unlocking my phone?<br /><br />Yes. While you will still be paying your provider the usual monthly rate, you can save money by using other SIM cards for other regions or countries if you are traveling. You can avoid roaming charges and you can search around for better rates wherever you are.<br /><br />How much technical knowledge do I need to unlock my phone?<br /><br />None at all. The instructions are easy to follow and simply require that you be able to enter the code unlocking number on your keypad. If you can dial a telephone number, you can unlock via code.<br /><br />Please find the detailed Instructions here -<a href=""></a><br /><br /><br />Can unlocking harm my phone?<br /><br />No. Unlocking simply removes the network and SIM locks imposed by your network carrier. However, you should check your contract and paperwork to make sure that it doesn't affect your phone's warranty or that it breaks the terms and conditions of your contract. There is always the possibility that if you enter the wrong code (or a previous owner has tried) too many times that it will permanently lock your phone.</span></span>

Sir its not a sim or network code it is a phone sim lock when i insert sim in samsung g-1080f mobile its sim code apear and that sim i insert on other mobile its work poroperly

Your phone is sim locked !

What does this mean in simple terms -
Mobile phone providers sell phones on a contract to pay off the phone cost so they lock the phone to their mobile network. When you put a sim in from another mobile network it gets locked by the phone. You have to either go back to the original mobile phone provider and ask if the phone can be unlocked or try your luck on the internet finding a unlocking web site (not sure these web sites will works or not )

My samsung galaxy j1 phone is want Sim network unlock pin

a sim card or phone needs a puk code or is locked BECAUSE it is not active,in order to unlock a sim card,or receive a puck code, you need to either, pay the balance owed, buy a new monthly service, open a new contract with a cell service or return the sim card or cell phone to whom it belongs to,we at fixya CANNOT GIVE YOU A NUMBER TO UNLOCK YOUR SIM CARD OR PUK CODE,there is a reason why it is locked,if it was easy to get a code, then anyone could steal your phone and use it and you couldnt stop its use for at least a month.
a phone is jail broken when you alter it to work on a different cell service provider,we at fixya do not jailbreak anything,if it isn't legal, then it doesn't belong here.

Sir, I am Sahidul, my phone is samsung Sgh f-480i, I have need lock and unlock code. my email #

Hi sahidul, i don't know what do you mean lock and unlock code. Did you mean unlock code to make your phone can use any sim card? If that unlock is what you want, you can get it from your network provider. Just call them and make request about samsung sgh -f480i unlock code, but you need a very good standing account with your network provider at least 6 month contract then they will process your request. Another method to get samsung unlock code is buying from third party sites and you just need to pay some bucks and need to wait for a couple of minutes. I hope my solution can solve your problem good luck!

3 sim card

First you should get the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) from the box your phone came in. Give it to network 3. That will stop anyone else using it.
Then buy another phone with or without network lock.
The network 3 contract is still binding, whether you use them or not you have to pay them the minimum fee until the end of the contract.
Network 3 will lock it to their network, to make it work.
The other way is to have two phones.
