Question about Brother IntelliFAX 1820C Plain Paper Inkjet Fax
Derek is very correct in his diagnosis. As an ex Brother engineer, we were changing printheads on a daily basis. It actually makes no difference whether you use brother or compatabiles inks. the head still rusts internally and gives error 41.

Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually
requires a print head replacement. My advice is to take it to a
Brother service centre while it is under warranty. If it's out of
warranty then it is cheaper to purchase a new, non Brother model. If you have been using non-Brother cartridges or refills, they can have too much water in them and it erodes the print head after a while. Usuall y just after warranty has expired!
