The belt is held by pulleys, there is an ajustment bolt loosen this (should be marked) to loosen the belt. some models have a frame bolt that must be removed to get the belt off. this repair should be fairly easy to do.

Replacing Dryer Drive Belt

If you can get to the area where the belt is you can cut the old one off and then move the motor and slip the new belt over the pulleys. I don't say it is easy but if you have the average mechanical ability you can do it.

Likely the cause is grease from a failing rear bearing.

Unfortunately, it's cheaper to buy a new washer than to fix this one. That's pathetic for a washer that's only 8 years old, and completely negates any environmental and economic benefits of buying a front loader.

Kenmore washer weak agitate even at fast load and no spin

It could need a new belt. If there is damage on the belt it may also be dirty or stretched and thereby slipping and not giving you it's best performance.

Washing machine is louder then normal on the spin cycle.

This sounds like the rear bearing is going. After getting louder, the next problem is grease appearing on your clothes during the spin cycle. This is a very major repair.
