Question about Epson Stylus Photo R800 InkJet Printer
Trying to print return addresses on envelopes and I keep getting black smudges around the edges of the envelopes - random places.
I've tried nozzle check; head cleaning; print head alignment utilities with no resolution... it seems there is just a build up of extra printer ink that appears to "scrape off" onto the envelop at inopportune times. (I'm not printing black print at the moment...)
How do I clean the rollers or whatever the ink has built up on so I don't ruin another run of expensive envelopes? Whatever you can do to help would be MOST appreciated.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Don't use nozzles clean function, besides ink consuming it can cause damages that cannot be fixed: black lines on the back side of the page that will be permanent. Instead put two photo paper together (2x260 gr) and push the two papers together into the printer while printing a motive including many colors. Do so a couple of times and the clogg usually disappears. Good luck! jonk

SOURCE: Epson Stylus NX400 While printing envelopes, I keep getting a black ink blot on the bottom right hand corner of the envelopes. It happens to about every 1 out of 4 envelopes. I printed the return addr
Envelopes can give all sorts of problems Back corner is flicking up. Try rolling the envelopes in the opposite direction to the "bowing" as they have been through machine once.

This is already a printhead issue, unfortunately. Printer has not been used for a long time that is why the nozzles got clogged.
Make sure that you are using a correct genuine epson cartridge.
If your printer is over a year old now, please log on to epson.com. Go to the drivers and support page. Click on help me find a service center to the right of the page to send your printer to an epson certified servicer near to your area.

Drums are not hot, you can try to clean them, are they smudgy? More likely the glue came off when it hit the hot section check this area, be carefull not to scratch anything.
