I turned off a WinXP Service - now I cant get the login to start

I accidently turned off a WinXP Service while doing a scan, now I can;t get the login screen to start. All I seem to get is a black screen w/ mouse.
I tried the Safe modes, didn't work. Tried repairing, didn't work. When trying to access the Recovery Cons.(F10), My admin pass. doesn't work- say's it doesn't exist. What now ?? Do I have to Reload WinXp (wipe out all data)?? Help!!!

Thanks!

If you have another computer available you can make a bootable cd that will run a program to reset your admin password. Several of those programs are discussed here. Good luck to you.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

During installation of Windows XP, the computer crashed and now it can not be restarted. What can we do?

try restarting it and go into recovery mode. if you cant get it to do that then try reinstalling windows xp. if you have a disk and still cant get it to install then the disk might be bad.

I accidently reactivated my old account,i want to deactivate it again, but i cant get to it on facebook cuz it always goes to my other account.how do i find the one that has been reactivated?

Log out of your old account and the login screen should pop up. You could then login to your new account. IF that doesn't work then go into your Browser Options and erase the login information that shows for the Facebook page. The browser will not be able to automatically log you in when you go to the Facebook page. You could then login to your new account.

Scanning - how do I select the computer??

turn on your computer, then at startup press F8, select SAFE MODE, here you can login wihtout password and disable the password by going to user account in control panel. Remember this can work only in winXP if it is WINVISTA, tne you have to re-install the OS without formatting, then at the Local disk, you see a folder named window.old, then rightclick on the folder named user and then security and claim ownership of the folder with your new user. good luck

Communication problem with a MP210 Canon Pixma

Yes! No WIA, no scanning! It means Windows Image Aquisition is not turned on... Not only will the scanner not work but also other Imaging devices like cameras. The best way to find out will be to try and scan from Microsoft Paint. Go to Start, all programs, accessories then look for paint. When paint opens, click file then from scanners or cameras. Try to scan, if it scans then WIA is ok.
It means is the scanner software that was not installed correctly so uninstall reinstall just the scanner software! If Paint does not scan, then its your computer's Operating system (winxp) at fault. Make sure WIA is started, or better try to restart that service (in control panel, administrative tools, services, look for Windows Image Aquisition, restart the service).

Restore factory settings on a Dell Latitude C510

Get a USB CD drive, insert a winXP pro tablet CD, go into bios and tell it to boot from USB device, turn off, attach the USB drive and fire it up. That should reformat and once you get Winxp working you should be able to get the necessary drivers from the Dell web site. Tech suppt at Dell may sell you a disc for the machine that will restore the factory image, just ask. I got new ones from HP for $10.72 total incl postage! 3 to 5 days, what a deal!
Any decent tech should be able to reinstall everything you need for less that $50.00, but you will lose all data on the drive. Who else knows or remembers the login?
