I have a Toshiba Portege M400 (it was a hand-me-down from my dad) which was working fine but my
six year old has pressed something and now the screen is turned off - the
laptop will switch on - the LED and fan come on but the screen stays
completely blank - and I can't get it to come back on. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Many many thanks. I hope it is not broken.
reboot, keep tapping F8 key, until you get to the system start up page ( black screen with writing )
the top offer is called
" last known good"
Choose this, let it roll, see how you do.
Or same reboot, keep tapping F8, til you get into start up menu, choose safe mode,
when it boots up, do a system restore,
start,all programmes,accessories, system tools,
system restore, choose the date it offers you,
Let it roll,
Should be good, if no hardware problems

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
