There is probably something in your lens, like a hair or something

Pictures are coming out blurry

On digital cameras it is always best to press the button half way down before taking the picture. This helps the camera focus, thus preventing blurry images. Always, always press the button half way down. Secondly, if you are still getting blurry pictures, there is a possiblity that the sensor in your camera is bad. I don't know how old your camera is or how long you've had it, but you would need to send it for repair, exchange it, or if it's under warranty maybe they'll send you a new one.

Picture to big, half the screen is cut off

First off did you get the right remote. I had this same problem and was not able to fix it because I had the wrong remote. You should have DSP mode on the remote near the select / ok button in the middle of the remote. The left and right arrows allow you to move through the different picture zoom / format settings. You will need to set yours to the 16/9 format to get it correct. I use the
RCA Universal Remote 5717P. Works great.

Thanks.

Malfunctioning of Nikon 2100

I had the same problem. The shutter button is faulty and is always half pressed - auto focus is operational (this is the step before actually the picture is taken. Try to clean it up with some special electrical contact spray. if this does not work - need to replace it - Not a simple job for the novice. You might need to take the camera to a service center for a spare on-off-expose button. I had an old faulty camera where I took the button from it. That solved the problem.
