Question about HP DeskJet 3940 InkJet Photo Printer
I'm trying to print a word document and there is a strange job in the printer que that I can't get rid of. It says "SerialJobNumber". When I try and cancel the job, it says it is deleting, but never does. When I reboot the computer, the job is still there, but it's status is "printing". There is no file size associated with the job.
Switch of the printer first remove the usb cable from the printer and uninstall the printer driver nad remove printer from device manager also. to go to the device manager do these steps first right click on my computer and then go to properties and the click on hardware tab and then click on device manager and go to universal serial bus controllers just click on + tab it will expand and it will show the list of connected hardware select usb printing support and right click on and uninstall then restart you system. after coplete boot run the driver software and connect the usb cable when it will prompt you and switch on the printer. it will install your printer

Tips for a great answer:
Dec 10, 2012 | Sharp Mx-2310u Color Copy/print/scan
1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the
print spooler service)
2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\
folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the
time you tried to print - delete these files.
3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the
print spooler service)
4. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right
corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View ->
I hope this information has been helpful.
