LG Chocolate screen messed up

On my LG strawberry chocolate, the screen has these lines going across it. They are kind of like the lines that tvs get when they are messed up or when they are rewinding.
Is my phone about to stop working?
How can I fix it?

It was probably stepped on. You will require a new screen sooner or later. Better off using the insurance to replace it.
